I'm from Acadiana (Mighty Mick's home). I'm proud of our State Police. I believe there will be many more perps that will surface. Our local stations are KATC & KLFY and the local daily paper is The Daily Advertiser and the local free weekly paper is The Independent. The Indi is free and can be read on line. The Indi does do some indepth investigative reporting.

God Bless that child. Special thanks to LE.

Thanks to JG for all the information.

Today I am just seriously hating on half the free world and this "woman" is right up there.

Nice work, jerseygirl. I'm seething!

Teche, I look forward to the usual excellent coverage from those news outlets when they start digging into this case. (BTW, everyone, I forgot to mention it was Teche who gave me the heads up when the news broke the other day.)

I don't think anyone will be cutting deals this time.

Teche, thank you for this. It'll be very helpful when following this case.

Bessie, I deleted that post. No need for me to note the relationship when it can be derived from easy research anyway. Its so much more important to protect the victim. Sorry & thank you for the edit.

Can I take them both crabbing with me? I think it helps to change up the bait from time to time. What about castration if I can't take them crabbing? Think about the crabs reacting to that kind of bait. Do they even think? Alligators, anyone? We could make it a 3fer deal, add BSL to the mix. A mod is going to delete this vicious post. Couldn't we put them all on a boat & sink it? There's that b@^#¥h to consider. Not sure where to start with this, possibilities for mayhem crowd my mind. I have very, very, very sharp custom Japanese knives. And I'm Spanish....hmmmm.

Pimp for a living?
How long could she have done this with no one noticing? Carencro isn't that big. Carencro is buzzard in Cajun French. Irony there. Jeez this just angers me, & yes, no filter to this Spanish mouth. It just is never-ending..same scene, different day. Why can't this stop? Haven't we had enough? So much is being lost. Lives that are torn to shreds. Mea culpa. I should probably go find a priest now...anger is so destructive...but so necessary.

Representative Hodges has partnered with Senator Broom to produce a ‘Safe Harbor Bill’ – this protects anyone who calls the Human Trafficking hotline. This bill provides a place for the victims to stay and ensures that all charges will be dropped against victims.

GovernorJindal Signs Two Anti-Human Trafficking Bills Into Law
June 24, 2013
BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal signed two bills into law that will help guard against human trafficking across Louisiana by strengthening protections for victims and enhancing penalties for wrongdoers...

HB 126—authored by Representative Valerie Hodges—strengthens enforcement of current law that requires certain establishments to post the National Human Trafficking Hotline number.

In addition, this bill adds penalties for the failure to post the hotline number and allocates the authority to promulgate rules regarding posting specifics to the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC).

SB 88—authored by Senator Sharon Broome—helps treat sexually exploited children who may have been human trafficked by allowing for pre-adjudication diversion programs for juveniles alleged to have engaged in prostitution related offenses.
This bill also takes additional steps to protect victims of human trafficking by creating a civil cause of action for victims, making victim restitution mandatory and establishing victim assistance guidelines for law enforcement, District Attorneys and the Attorney General’s office.

Louisiana is among the top 10 worst states in the country for human trafficking.

"You know, if you think of a commodity that's designed for a specific purpose, that's what these girls are," said Chuck Robb, the executive director of Hope House. "They're dehumanized, and so when they come in there is a humanization of them again, giving them choices they've not had. There's a reprogramming to give them a hope and help them understand that they do have a future."

What did Katherine do for a living?
Armed robbery among other things.
Vidrine has a criminal history that includes drug abuse. According to court documents filed in Lafayette Parish in 1998, she was arrested for armed robbery and accessory after the fact.

In 2002, she was arrested for simple battery. Court records show that in 2008 she and two other suspects were arrested on drug charges. Vidrine pleaded not guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia. She was convicted and sentenced to five years of supervised probation with required substance abuse treatment.
