Vicksburg woman missing from Corps of Engineers barge

A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employee from Vicksburg is missing from her barge in the New Orleans area, officials said.
Larrielles Ross, 20, who is a temporary worker on a quarters barge with a mat sinking unit, was last seen about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials investigating disappearance of Vicksburg woman

Authorities are continuing their search for a Vicksburg woman reported missing Wednesday from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ mat sinking unit.

Greg Raimondo, Vicksburg District public information officer, said the Corps has sent two survey boats to aid in the search for Larrielle Ross, 20, an employee in the quarters barge galley, who was reported missing Wednesday. The U.S. Coast Guard and the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office are assisting with the search, he said.

A body found Sunday morning (Nov. 6) in the Mississippi River has been identified as 20-year-old Larrielle Shantoya Ross of Vicksburg, Miss., an Army Corps of Engineers food service worker who was reported missing last week, the St. Charles Parish Coroner confirmed Tuesday afternoon.
