I wish I could say I'm surprised but I'm not. I am very sad and disgusted though. That poor, sweet, little boy. He deserved better!
The whole story smelled fishy from the start.

I missed the info that said the mother had burns. Where did that come from?
Levi's mother claimed she had been sprayed with mace or some similar caustic substance by the "intruders."

What exactly does everyone think happened?

I think if he had been hurt in some way, he would've been one of the many "disappeared" children--lisa Irwin, DeOrr Kunz, Ayla Reynolds.

She wanted him publicly considered dead--so I think money was the motive--the Go Fund me and/or life insurance. Maybe to pay off drug debts--she was an admitted former user. Or maybe just for the money itself. I mean, if you can burn your baby alive, then you are callous enough to kill him for small cash. Sick.

Still, she is quite stupid. The more elaborate the plot, the more likely to get caught.

Both have now been charged with an additional charge of "criminal conspiracy," according to the state's fire Marshall office.

Methinks no "men" were involved. Just these two.

I never bought her story. If a couple guys show up pounding on your door, pepper spray you, grab your baby in a trailer park, that would would make a lot of noise, and at least one or two neighbors would hear. Plus no way a mom won't fight, and scream like a banshee to save her child.

Agreed. I'm sure with neighbors not seeing/hearing anything and a friend phoning in the 911 call, the police knew it was a sham within a matter of hours.

So she didn't actually have burns then. I was imagining burns from a fire.

Updated: Memorial wreath placed for burned baby

Tim Key placed the wreath in the spot where Levi was burned in Natchicothes. The area is near the railroad tracks by Breda Ave.

Key, retired from the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, says he placed the wreath on behalf of the Police Department, Sheriff’s Office, all other law enforcement and first responders in the area and the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center Emergency room staff.

Is there an article to this? Did I miss it being posted here? If so, could you point me to the correct article? TIA! :)

I can't believe some FB comments. Some people seem to look at this as some type of drama series, discussing different characters and plot twists like it's all a show, and they can't wait for the next episode so they can say "told you!" All accompanied by inappropriate facebook smilies and tags to people that will agree with them.
I know this happens with all crimes and especially against children, and I usually have no problem just scrolling and finding the "good comments" (by friends/family)
For whatever reason there seems to be an unusually high rate of idiots who are totally ignorant of what actually happened here, and don't even mention the happy little face of little Levi while he was alive and the pain he had to endure as he died, and the fact that he had family that would have been prepared to take him in because they loved him.
No let's just wait for the next episode!
Some of these people are as shallow and empty in their heads as the murderers who did this likely are.
Sorry for rant. So sad and disgusted.

If it is a small comfort, my DH was burned on his legs when he was 12. He said there really wasn't much pain for about an hour, then it was excruciating. It doesn't seem like that poor babe was alive long enough for the pain to kick in. :(

I agree. And I don’t mean to offend anyone.

The commonalities in these cases of children killed in a heinous manner have a couple of GLARING FACTORS IN COMMON. in fact there may be more before I am finished thinking here.

1. Drugs. Most often meth, to the degree it is known to friends, family and even LE.

2. Young mostly unmarried parents who seem to change partners faster than the weather changes.

2.1. Unstable families.

3. The economically challenged with no direction, education or opportunities. Unemployed.

4. Children in a one parent household.

5. Usually have reports on file with State and local LE for child abuse, endangerment or neglect.

6. Less common but occurring often enough is repeated removal of children from the home for reasons mentioned above.

Anyone have more to add????
