Press conference said the area was the safest place in Baton Rouge. So horrible. Getting shot at the mall.

I wouldn't consider that the safest place in Baton Rouge. Maybe currently it is the safest place in BR since most of the police officers in BR are likely there. The area is not a "bad area" but the mall is kind of scary at times. I won't go there at night that is for sure.

You take your life into your hands everytime you leave your home. There are few safe places anymore. Most of these thugs cannot shoot straight and bullets travel very fast. There are neighborhoods here in Long Beach that I don't go near anymore, day or night. It is what it is...

Speak for yourself. In my town shootings are almost unheard of. Communities get what the they allow. If you fail to crack down, this is what you get. I can walk anywhere in town here without fear. I am sad for those in communities where they can't do that, but that is because their community leaders won't do anything and have likely chosen the criminals over the rights of the citizens.

One of the gunmen was caught in Livingston Parish.The 17 year old shooting victim who passed was a female student from Lafayette.
In Livingston Parish, Sheriff Jason Ard said a suspect was taken into custody in the Oak Hills area of Watson.
