No! That is not what it means! Charlie is saying there is no possibility that Mickey VOLUNTARILY disappeared!

"she never would have left to go home on her own"

Huh? The above statement leads you to that conclusion?? I apologize (this is being conversationally nice to others on a message board) in advance if you have "inside" information that you know to be true but until I hear it put differently or restated by the sister, we are going to have to agree to disagree.

bbm: that quote came from an IB times article... it could have been taken out of context..

If Mickey didnt spend the night at other peoples houses then why did it take up through the time of her brothers graduation to report her missing. From my understanding the family did go to the brothers graduation and were making calls and trying to track her down through friends, etc...but by the sounds of it they were not alarmed at 9am when Mickey wasnt home in her bed sleeping or there for breakfast. So, maybe she does spend the night out with friends occasionally.

I've wondered about this too. From everything I read, it seems like the family was alarmed when she didn't show up for the graduation. But did no one try to enter her room that morning? Maybe they assumed she was somewhere else? Maybe the rest of the family left to do something prior to the graduation and thought that she would get dressed and join them eventually? Just another odd thing to me.

The report says this:

Shunick's older sister, continued to say that she never would have left to go home on her own. http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/3450...bike-route.htm

If Charlie didn't mean this, she should ask for the ibtimes.com to print a clarification b/c it sure sounds like she wouldn't have went home that night alone.

ETA: I see ibtimes is notoriously sloppy, but now we know where that came from.

Can you point me to the source of this statement from her sister, so I can decipher what you all are talking about?

That is not an accurate quote. The reporter took what Charlie said ("she never would have left on her own."). And CHANGED IT to include the words "to go home."

First hand, actual reports from main stream media do not include the words "to go home" and those words were never spoken by Charlie.

it is from this IB times article

(which takes msm reports and makes them their own)

"I think she's OK, I think she's alive. I think she's out there," Mickey's sister, Charlene told KATC-TV.

Shunick's older sister, continued to say that she never would have left to go home on her own.

imhoo they got this wrong as there is no report at KATC saying this.... they embellished it imhoo...

Would you agree that the area over by colliseum road is the darkest and most deserted piece of her route home?

I'm going to say that there is no way she voluntarily disappeared. MSM and LE have made no mention of any behaviors (selling items, giving away momentos, large bank withdrawal, saying goodbyes, etc.) that would indicate this option .

Everyone seems to want to hang their hat on the friend who last saw her theory, but I just can't buy it (not yet at least). I see him as quirky, but I don't see him as a "heat of the moment" killer.

Hi all. I read about Mickey and followed the beginning of the case. Trying to catch up, but wondered if one of you would give me the short version. Any POI's in her disappearance yet? Video of her that night?

Unfortunately, the short version is the only version. Nothing yet but a lot of people still looking, now with help from the FBI and Texas Equusearch.

I don't watch when one blinks but how much he/she blinks. People normally blink about 4 times/minute. People with brain injuries, Parkinson’s, schizophrenia, or major depression with psychotic features and are taking/have taken antipsychotic meds have decreased rates of blinking which can give them that creepy continuous stare.

On this video (under Darth Vadar) he didn't blink one time in 38 seconds which was abnormal. (He appeared to be reading his statement and blinking rates decrease while reading.)

I watched his video again from the JVM show and he was blinking at a normal rate. (Whew!)

Pensfan
verified psychiatric mental health nurse

Exactly. My underlying point that maybe he had certain knowledge on this subject therefore employed this knowledge and avoided blinking. But so much so to make it odd. IMCrazyA$$O

Yes, it would not have the foot traffic or vehicle traffic that the beginning and ending of her route have at 2AM.

I hope nothing happened there because how would they ever find evidence if someone rode off with her.

Is it known whether that area was targeted for very thorough investigation?

Here is the link to the original article from Good Morning America:

Note that Charlie does not say "to go home."

Im over it. Debating an issue that will not lead to the resolution of this case is time wasteful. I merely noticed an odd statement and offered it up for discussion. I am satisfied that it has been discussed.
