The truck is white. The color of the driver hasn't been mentioned afaIk.

I'm starting to wonder if they have her on camera passing by, see the truck very shortly thereafter pull into the left-hand turn lane (left turn onto University) BUT ... then see the truck back-up (into LUS parking lot) rather than going thru the light making the left turn and see it going the direction she was headed.

It was dusk when we went. My husband commented that he didn't think it would be too dark right there because there are some big stadium looking lights (I have seen people practicing soccer or something there in the past, I never paid much attention) but they weren't on when we passed. Then we just turned around when St. Landry hit Coliseum and went back the opposite way back the way the truck was facing in the pictures.

Also I didn't know this even as a local but St John becomes St. Landry after crossing University. So that was the same road, just changed names.

MOO ONLY is that truck is not as unimportant as is being said.

These photos of Mickey make me feel so strange....very uncomfortable and nervous.

Me too...sort of anxious and sick.

1 more minute until the 10pm news! Hoping for details...

Katc just reported white truck was on both Versailles AND St. Landry.

Who know how to do a side-by-side picture post? Wish I did.

Has anyone done that map outline thingy showing the corner where MS was and the streets she travelled - like they did with potential routes earlier on? Please? I'd do it but don't know how. :banghead:

I think it looks more like a Chevrolet or gmc basic / work model... Anyone else?!??!

Window shape of ford model shown doesn't look similar to the one on camera. I def think its chev or gm

FWIW, i'm with you. And i think it is without a tailgate.

IMO b/c this was the first real tip a lot of people jumped on it, (someone on FB actually gave the link to here so that may be where all the lurkers came from) focusing on specific details and they don't want someone to overlook a truck just b/c it doesn't look exactly the way it does in the pic. In the time that's passed the truck could look slightly different and it would be a shame if someone looked at it, thought it wasn't the exact one, and didn't call it in.

The person on FB who posted a link to here had already mentioned that someone here had seen the F150 with MX plates and they were all over that.

Re: Gentle Choices Birthing Center...

I'm a member of the Louisiana Natural Birth Group. I'll post a message with them so they can spread the word.

Fantastic thinking.

I'd ask my hubby his opinion but he's camping this weekend.. :) But you're right- the chevy model looks like it too. Note: this is just a random sampling of a white chevy crew cab / short bed (which it looks to me like it's not a long bed in the vid. surveillance) .. anyway, to me they all look alike.

Which just reinforces the note on Charlie's FB that says "this is not the exact truck we're looking for" (I'm guilty for over analyzing every bit of info given out.. )

Basically, keep your eyes out for any white truck similar, that might seem suspicious.

That picture of the truck in Lauren's case was found to have nothing to do with her disappearance.
This definitely bears re-quoting. The white truck in the Indiana case had nothing to do with her disappearance.

What baffles me about the truck and CS saying that they are not specifically looking for the truck in the picture is, why not? The truck may not have anything to do with MS's disappearance, but as of now they should go off of facts. And, in this case, the fact is that that truck appeared near the same time Mickey rode by. IMO, they SHOULD be seeking out this exact truck. The driver HAD to have seen her or noticed something. The window of time is just too small for there to be no correllation. Even if the driver didn't see anything, I would want to speak with him/her to rule that out.

I think CS made a mistake by saying they aren't looking for this specific/exact truck. This is, of course, all my opinion.

Peeps have their reasons for saying stuff - forget about it - maybe C is trying to calm people down as I noticed some weird comments under the article.

OMG!

A woman called KATC to say she believes this truck is the same one that stopped and offered her a ride in the past----2pm in the afternoon----she accepted the ride and he offered her $ for sex. She refused and he dropped her off. Driver told her he drove around looking for ? My phone rang and I missed what she said!

How very very frustrating.

Two thoughts:

LE may not want that truck to be named as "the one" for legal reasons, similar to how LE won't identify someone as a suspect but now use the term "person of interest".

Second, as more importantly, I suspect there is some concern on the part of LE based on the tone of the (younger) population ...namely, retribution, and they don't want anyone going vigilante on their own. I think they may feel it important to cast that doubt as to this being only a truck that is "similar" so as to divert anyone who may think of doing something stupid if in fact they do happen upon that - or a similar - truck.

Also, I think it's important to note in the picture with the white truck, you can visibly see the gas tank area and it's not the same color as the vehicle. This indicates that the gas tank door has been changed out to an aftermarket one. Most likely it appears as if it is chrome, which is pretty commonly seen. Hopefully that helps narrow this truck down somewhat.

Looking for 'pretty girls'.

on KATC's 10:00 news they interviewed a young woman who said she was given a ride by a white man in his 50's or 60's (didn't catch how long ago) and he kept making passes at her, offering her money for sex. She refused and he let her out. He told her he tours around looking for pretty young women.

ETA: slow, as usual.

That picture of the truck in Lauren's case was found to have nothing to do with her disappearance.

I've followed Lauren Spierer's case closely since the very first day she was reported missing. Some circumstances in Mickey's disappearance are eerily similar to Lauren's, so when I saw the picture of the truck this evening, I let out a loud gasp. But Chili Fries is right. Bloomington LE questioned the truck owner and held a presser to announce the truck "was eliminated from the investigation". The driver had a legitimate, verifiable reason for being in the neighborhood.

I do hope the LPD will follow up as thoroughly as LE did in Bloomington.

Now that KATC confirmed that the white truck was spotted after her on the corners of St. John and Versailles AND St. Landry and University....I'm now even more incredibly curious to know how he was following her on one and going the opposite direction in the other. There's no way to explain that without having seen the truck again on camera before the picture where he is turning left onto University.

I hope what soon may be the many reports of white trucks don't turn out to be red herrings.
