Identified! LA - New Orleans, woman's burned body near SUNO, Dec'10 - Aisha Lee

I think she was probably a lighter skinned AA. The colorful tatoos were somewhat visible even after her body was charred. Just a thought.

Possible. Also possible she appears lighter skinned due to the light used when photographing the tat's. We've all seen photo's where the image appears washed out due to lighting used during photographing.

One of the articles mentions that they had to use a number of special techniques to recover the tattoos from the burned skin, so that probably affects the apparent skin color.

Thank you for the reminder. Now that you mentioned it, I do recall reading something about that in one of the MSM articles.

I pray her name is found soon. This is one of the cases that stays in the back of my mind and I wonder with such great identifiers what is it gonna take for someone to notice and report her missing? She missed New Years, is it going to be mothers day she misses when someone is alerted to noticing they haven't spoken with her in some time?

:praying:

I went ahead and submitted Constance Anderson despite the chin. It's a long shot, but I thought I'd let them make the determination. Will let you know if I hear anything.

I submitted through Crimestoppers since I couldn't find an email for the detective or the coroner's office. I wish I didn't have so many problems hearing over the phone...

Namus link:
https://identifyus.org/cases/8625

Some discrepancies with the earlier information here.

Nola.com gave her age as 25-30 but Namus has her slightly older (30-40 years old).

John Gagliano, the coroner's office chief investigator, said the victim appears to be an African-American woman between 25 and 30 years old. She was 5-foot-6 and weighed 125 pounds, Gagliano said.
http://www.nola.com/crime/index.ssf/2010/12/stab_wounds_killed_woman_found.html

Namus says she was 64 inches and that they cannot estimate weight.

Here is the list of tattoos again:
Multiple tattoos across the body (see photo in images):
1. two cherries in right neck region
2. "goddess of love" along upper back
3. "Jezebel" on upper abdomen
4. six red flowers on upper lateral left arm
5. "baby girl" with a flower on anterior left forearm
6. strawberry on upper lateral right arm
7. heart with wings on posterior right forearm
8. butterfly on posterior right hip
9. "I am what glistens with the sweet nectar only a woman can substain [sic] I am Aisha" on medial left lower leg
10. butterfly on left lateral lower leg
11. ice cream sundae with letters "ACTZE" on anterior right thigh
12. only partial tattoo visible on right lower leg, possibly a red flower

Someone must remember all these tattoos.

There was a button reading "Arizona Jean Co." and a burned suitcase with the body.

Teeth 1, 16, and 32 are "not seen"; could be antemortem loss or congenital absence. tooth 2 - OFL amalgam. tooth 3 - OFL amalgam. tooth 14 - OL amalgam. tooth 15 - OFL amalgam. tooth 18 - O amalgam. tooth 30 - O/F amalgam

DNA tests are not complete. No fingerprint info.

Many of the NAMPN links in future criminologist's post are dead now. Hoping it means they returned home. Jasmine Winters and Danisha Nash are still there but they would be too young if Namus age estimate is correct.

Edit: Barbara Harris was recovered, as per NCMEC quoted here: http://justice4caylee.forumotion.net/t5309-barbara-harris-15-yo-monroe-la
As well as Katrina Ford and Jasmine Burge according to this forum: http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=9570&pst=997961
And Branesha Nellon according to this blog: http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...k&gl=fi&client=firefox-a&source=www.google.fi

According to NamUs, this decedent has been identified as Aiysha Dyrell Lee

Interesting - The "Aisha" in her tattoo was her first name, not a tribute to the musician Aisha. It looks like NamUs misspelled her first name.

Thank you for posting this news, Carl!!! Thank you very much!! I just checked on her a couple of days ago as I do every week. This case hit rather close to home for me because her body was found in an area of New Orleans close to where I grew up near Lake Pontchartrain. I can't tell you how many tattoos I have looked at in the past year. I'm so sorry that Aiysha's life ended so tragically, but relieved that she has been identified.

I can't find anything about Aisha Lee being reported as missing. oh well, at least the deceased has her name.

If you google Aiysha Lee it turns up a "MyLife" profile for an Aiysha Dyrell Lee from Columbia, SC.

I couldn't find anything regarding an Aiysha Lee or Aiysha Dyrell Lee being reported missing, however.

I'm so glad she has been identified. This is one of the cases I hoped would be resolved soon. Prayers said for all who knew and loved Aisha. :praying: May she rest in peace and receive the justice she so deserves.

I just came across this while searching for something unrelated. It's a picture of Aiyisha Dyrell Lee under the NOPD cold case profiles.

Aiyshia%20Lee.ashx
Aiyshia%20Lee%20composite%20sketch.ashx

She had been staying in a homeless shelter in an Uptown NOLA neighborhood and was last seen four days before her body was found.

So glad she's been identified.

Now if they can just find who killed her and bring them to justice...
