Reynaldo Gonzalez, age 64

last seen driving his black Mercedes sedan, 1:35pm, June 3, 2025, New Orleans, LA, 90 West on-ramp at Tchoupitoulas St. The car was seen at 2:21pm, June 3, at intersection of Barataria Blvd and Lapalco Blvd, New Orleans. LA License Plate 702EQJ.

He is caregiver for an elderly, disabled family member who was found unattended on June 4.

The New Orleans Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding 64-year-old Reynaldo Gonzalez, who was last seen earlier this week driving through the city.

Anyone with information on Gonzalez’ location is asked to call 911 or Sixth District detectives at 504-658-6060.

He's a caregiver driving a Mercedes 2015 Mercedes-Benz S Class four door sedan? If purchased new in 2015 they had a starting MSRP of $94,400 for the S550 and and $97,400 for the S550 4MATIC Sedan.

SO, I knew he had to have another source of income. And the photo, though perhaps not recent and a bit "filtered" looked professionally done.

He's a very well known (and presumably well to do) interior designer with a home in Louisiana. His business was founded in New York 25 years ago (I think the "missing photo" may have been taken around then as he appears much younger and that same photo is used in press coverage dating back a number of years). He's been featured in the New York Times and Vogue.

Here is his website for his business in New Orleans.

Could have been an attempted hate crime if someone assumed he was homosexual due to his profession. And--this one is a big stretch --but maybe he was peeking into a house from the road to admire the overall design and the homeowners thought he was an intruder.

New Orleans is a significant hub for the LGBTQ+ community, The city has a history of recognizing LGBTQ+ rights, including early adoption of non-discrimination ordinances and hate crimes laws. I have friends who visit it just for that reason. So I am not thinking hate crime because someone assumed something. Other cities perhaps, but not New Orelans.

As a very successful professional, he wouldn't have to resort to peeking in windows, most homes of note can be found on line. Though I like how you think - that's a plausable scenario for some, I just don't see it for someone of his caliber in the design world. It's more likely that his being missing was
(1) he was overwhelmed if he was a full time caregiver (I did it for two parents, one with Alzheimers, one who was 100 years plus and it's exhausting if done while holding down another job).
(2) business related.
(3) personal health related - at 64, he could have health issues we are unaware of and the additional stress of caring for someone triggered that
(3) carjacking - though not personally high on my list. Being from Chicago where carjackings are rampant up here, they rarely abduct the person they steal the car from, and though there have been shootings, they usually don't kill someone for the car.
