LA LA- Rodney Smith, Adult, New Orleans, 18 July 2019

NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating an adult male reported as missing.

Rodney Smith (DOB: 7-19-1987) was last seen by his girlfriend on July 18, 2019 at about 6:00 p.m., just after he had dropped her off at her workplace in the Eighth District. Smith’s girlfriend told police that she was notified that Smith had been transported via EMS to an area hospital from the intersection of Basin and Toulouse streets that evening. Smith had reportedly sustained injuries in an unknown incident. It was later learned that Smith had refused medical treatment and checked himself out of the hospital.

Smith, pictured below, is described as a black male standing about 6’0” and weighing about 175 pounds with a dark complexion and short black hair. He was last seen with an unshaven face and wearing a green and white Aeropostale NY t-shirt, dark colored jeans and black tennis shoes.

I found an arrest record for him from July 19, 2019 (his birthday) at 11:58 AM, the day after he was reported missing. In the mugshot there are two band-aids visible, so that would be consistent with the reported incident in which he had been injured the night before. However, the missing persons report was published on July 22. I wonder is he is still considered missing.
