Ryan Wedding is seen in two photos taken sometime in 2024. CBC's visual investigations unit determined the picture on the left was captured in Mexico City's Santa Fe business district. (FBI)
Long sleeve photo. This guy could fit into watching any kid's soccer game. Look like your average White guy w/no questions asked.

OK I’m gonna admit it. I am totally fascinated by this guy.
I’m gonna DVR the Dateline when it comes out in 2040 about him (if DVR and Dateline still exist).
What a … completely fascinating and scandalous turn of events for a Canadian snowboarder?!?!!
Is anyone else piqued?

Nothing new but a good summary.

IMO, having arranged to kill the key FBI informant against him, he's become public enemy #1 for that reason alone.

It's hard enough to get insiders to talk, but once they are convinced the FBI can't protect them, but they'll be tracked down and murdered before they even testify - well forget that ever happening again.

Drug dealers make fabulous amounts of money by destroying lives and sucking all the goodness out of the society they target, they leave nothing behind them but a trail of crime and death. They are worse than serial killers and mass murderers, but people glamorize them.

USA Today Dec 30, 2025. "Wedding, however, remains at large. Officials believe he is in Mexico and being protected by the Sinaloa cartel."

Wedding is still listed on the Department of State site - $15 million reward.
I still think he could live in a US city and not be recognized. Just live low key, do manual labor. Looks are deceiving.

Yes, but I just don't think international drug lords want to end up with that kind of lifestyle.

IMO, the element of danger is what attracts them to drug smuggling to begin with, plus they must believe they're smarter than everyone else. And using their money to buy anything they could ever want is the whole point.

IMO, he doesn't have family ties to Northern Mexico, so he can move anywhere. Some kind of estate/mansion (more than 1), where he'll be surrounded by armed guards, somewhere that's never heard of him: maybe South America, Spain, etc.

11:22 a.m. - ‘Outstanding work’

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi also took to X to share news of Wedding’s arrest and thank Mexican authorities for their assistance in the case.

In the post, Bondi calls Wedding an “alleged violent cocaine kingpin.”

“Wedding was flown to the United States where he will face justice. This is a direct result of President Trump’s law-and-order leadership,” Bondi said.

FBI Director Kash Patel has confirmed in a post on X that alleged drug kingpin Ryan Wedding was arrested in Mexico on Thursday night.

Patel says that Wedding is being transported to the U.S. “to face justice.”

“This is a huge day for a safer North America, and the world, and a message that those who break our laws and harm our citizens will be brought to justice,” he said on X.
