The Shreveport Police Department is still searching for a young woman who has been missing more than three years now.

May 4, 2022 was the last day Savannah Hale was heard from by her family. Police say on that day, her cellphone last showed activity in the 300 block of Travis Street in downtown Shreveport. Investigators say they know Hale was also in the North Market area at some point during the evening.

I live an hour from Shreveport and have never heard of this case. I go to Shreveport a few times a month as well. This case has gotten so little attention. Where are you Savannah?

Truly a mystery, I noodled this case around until I drove myself crazy. It makes sense that she's in the water somewhere, but I can't completely discount foul play.

I feel deeply for her parents and sister 🙁
Not to sound obvious, but there's always a slight possibility of foul play until she/the car is found.

Sadly these cases can take, well, decades to resolve. And probably just pure luck/happenstance.

William Moldt's car was spotted by someone trawling through Google Earth and noticing what looked like a car buried in a pond. a "shift in the water" led to the discovery. he'd been missing since 1997 and was found in 2019.

Cheryl Miller and Pamela Jackson's car was found in a creek a half-mile from where they were last seen. Dry weather had exposed the area where the car was buried. they'd been missing since 1971 and were found in 2013.

I'm really hoping it doesn't take that long.

“At the end of the day, we are nothing more than civilians. We’re not, you know, criminologists, we’re not part of law enforcement,” a team member said. “Just the love that your community has for us to be here looking for the two that are missing that we’re aware of, but also to clean up the environment and to help get those cars out of the water.”

The team uses side-imaging and down-imaging sonar technology capable of sweeping 10 feet of underwater area per pass. The equipment captures still images of the underwater environment rather than live video.

Out of eight searches conducted, the group has located at least six vehicles. None belonged to Hale.
