LA LA - Savannah Hale, 22, LSU alumni, Shreveport, 4 May 2022

About an hour from Shreveport, maybe a little less, sits Lake Of The Pines. It’s near Jefferson, Texas. Back in 2014, they found a vehicle that had been submerged in the lake, since 1987. Inside they found the lady, that owned car. She had been missing for 27 years. Apparently, she was new to the area and probably wasn’t just real familiar with the roads. She lost control and drove off in the lake, near a bridge.

A very sad ending, but I’m glad her family was able to give her a proper burial. They have closure now, as well.

Early this morning, a man was shot and killed in the parking garage of a hotel, just a few blocks from Fatty Arbuckles. Just more sad evidence of the current state of affairs, in downtown Shreveport.
I heard that on the news. It gets worse everyday, I think.

Yet, still no news on Savannah. I haven’t heard back from anyone yet, but I’m not giving up on trying to get her story back on the news! She needs to be found. I can’t fathom what her poor family is going through.

Yes, Gigi, Shreveport is a rough place. I was over there today. I always try to get out before it gets dark.

I can’t, for the life of me, understand why the news media is not on top of this story. This should be front page news.

Like you, I really hate what this is doing to her family. I can’t imagine the pain, of not knowing, where your daughter is. Very sad.

I’m troubled by a lot of things revolving around this case. One being the lack of coverage, by the local news media. It’s been months since I’ve seen anything on KSLA or KTBS, about this young lady.

Right now, the KTBS webpage, for example, has a story on an “Art Walk” in Shreveport and insomnia. It’s obvious they are scraping the bottom of the barrel, trying to find something to report. It’s time to put together an update on Savannah.

Maybe you could ping a local media source and ask for an update?

I live in Shreveport. Broadmoor. Your assessment of my city as a dark, crime-ridden pit is incorrect. As you said, you don’t live here. Maybe your pov is a bit skewed?

Yes. There is crime. Just like there is everywhere. And our gun laws are horribly lax, so we do have more shootings than cities with better gun control….but you make us sound like a war zone and I wanted to set that straight.

Broadmoor. That was one of two places I lived in Shreveport as I went to A C Steere Elementary. I admit I don't know what the crime is like now. I've gone back several times, but the last time I went back it wasn't the neighborhood I remember from 15-20 years ago and certainly not what it was like when I lived there.

No, I don’t live in Shreveport, now, but I once did. In fact, I owned a home in Broadmoor, of all places. I still own a rental property that’s fairly close to Broadmoor. Speaking of which, did you see the Broadmoor Neighborhood Alliance on KSLA, today? It seems they are a little concerned about crime.

Yes, other places have violence. That being said, Shreveport is listed as the 8th most dangerous city in America, according to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report. Yes, Baton Rouge (Fifth Place) New Orleans (Third Place) and Saint Louis (First Place) beat out Shreveport, in the race for the most dangerous city. Oddly enough, little Pine Bluff, Arkansas was in there somewhere, as well.

If you want to address things that are “lax”, a great place to start is with the weak Caddo Parish DA. Weak Louisiana judges are another contributing factor. “Lax” Louisiana parole polices, that release felons in untold numbers, are another HUGE, HUGE, HUGE contributor to violent crime.

It’s not rocket science. Most felonies are committed by individuals that have committed felonies before and have been handled by the criminal justice system, previously. When the punishment doesn’t fit the crime, they walk away believing that crime pays. Most will reoffend.

Is your city a “dark crime ridden pit? Those were your words, not mine. Personally, I don’t believe that to be the case. If I felt that way, I wouldn’t go to Shreveport, in the daytime. I would also unload my Shreveport rental properties. Is Shreveport a “war zone”? Not since the Cedar Groce riot, which was some time in the late eighties, if my memory serves me correctly.

I was in Shreveport Saturday and I will be in Shreveport again, this Saturday. Yes, I will get out, before dark. If you feel safe running around “Ratchet City”, after dark, more power to you. I wish you well.

Enough of my rant. Ranting will not find Savannah Hale and bring her home to her family. I think you would agree that finding Savannah is the absolute, most important thing.

Be Safe!

Checking to see what the latest here after an internet search. It doesn't take long when there is nothing out there for months from either LE or the media. It appears this case went cold FAST.

It seems that based on the news in 2023, the media and LE haven't much interest.
I used to belong to a Facebook group for her, but things got a little weird and they made it private. I do see her Mom is still posting and is heartbroken at the lack of movement in the case :(

Does LE even look for her anymore?

Did they bring in an Adventures With Purpose-type group to look for her car in the water?
