ABBEVILLE, La. -
Vermilion Parish Sheriff's deputies are looking for a missing teenager out of Abbeville who they say ran away from home.
Officers say that they are searching for 17-year-old Shaina N. Crochet who went missing from her residence located on La Hwy 82 South. She is believed to have left her home through her bedroom window.
Her mother discovered that she was missing at around 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning, August 31, 2017.
Crochet is described as being approximately 5'1", weighing approximately 123 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt with the words 'Karma" across the front and gray tight fitting warm-up pants with the word "Aero" across the back. Crochet also has a home-made tattoo of a cross on her left wrist.
