I'm new here, but this caught my eye and I have questions.
I just happened to be looking through Louisiana missing persons after watching the Showtime series about the Jennings 8. Kylie Hartmann and Crystal Beal seemed oddly similar to those cases. I recently relocated from East Texas, but prior to that I lived in Louisiana. I actually lived in Shreveport about 10 years back, so they caught my eye.
People don't just disappear off Youree Drive. That is like one of the main streets in Shreveport. I lived pretty close to this school - there is a really popular Cajun spot right across the street.
East Texas is sort of known for missing people, but - I see such a clear pattern here. Besides Shakyra, there is Kayla Jackson (16) missing since August of this year. Raven Williams (16) went missing in Bossier in October of 2018. Right down I-20, Makiyah Minnieweather (17), missing from Monroe since December of 2017. Patricia Randle (16), also of Monroe, missing since November of 2017. Ivy Wilson (17) has been missing from Monroe since January of 2018, and Chyanne Taylor (16), missing since October of 2018.
They're all minors, they all have similar builds, and 4 of the 6 are black. Is there solid evidence that these girls were actually runaways? Even so, they're all minors! Up until the last two, I was still living right across the stateline. I still get the Longview and Tyler news in my Facebook feed. I didn't hear about missing girls - I would have read the stories. I would remember it. Do Amber Alerts only go out for people missing in your own state? This area of Louisiana - you can be out of state within 30 minutes! I just don't understand why I've never heard about these girls!
I pray they're ok, but it's frustrating to think that people an hour away wouldn't even know to be looking!
