Thinking of Shane because of an accident in my area.

One night, the end of october, a car collided with a truck on the motorway. According to witnesses, the driver of the car was wounded, possibly had broken a leg, yet he somehow stumbled away and disappeared. LE searched both sides of the motorway and found nothing. In later days, the search was extended with specialized SAR teams and divers and people in the area were asked to search their gardens and barns. It was thought that the wounded man, a local, was possibly hiding. Nothing was found.

Six weeks later, a body was discovered in the water, a few miles from the location of the accident. Turned out to be the missing man. No foul play is suspected, LE thinks he somehow ended up in the water and the body was carried slowly by the small river to the place where it was found.

There is no obvious reason why the man would have needed to go into the water, roads and bridges are nearby. The river isn't even next to the location of the accident. Places to hide are plenty. The car was in his name, LE could easily trace him. Running away did not make sense at all. Yet he ran off and ended up in the water. IMO shock and stress after the collision played a big role.

Where is Shane Fell?!?!?!
This is another case that I am completely obsessed with...I can't let it go and it's frustrating that it hasn't gotten a lot of attention. I discovered this case listening to an episode of the podcast "Unfound" where the host, Ed Dentzel, interviewed Shane's mother. We know that Shane had been drinking that night with his brother and sister-in-law and it appears that he was taking a long way home presumably to avoid a DUI checkpoint. His brother got a call from him shortly thereafter saying that he was in a single-vehicle accident and his brother told him that he was on his way. Not long after hanging up, Shane called his brother again asking where he was and brother was like I'm almost there. The brother arrived a few minutes later and saw Shane's car that was on it's side and emergency responders but Shane was gone. One of his shoes was by the car. Talk about a mystery! Did he wander over by the river and fall in? Did he get a ride from someone and, if so, where to and why would he get into someone's car when he knew his brother was on the way?

I think, I remember it all except, that his s-i-l was present during their drinking-session. You will know it better than me! :) The missing man's name SF is still on my mind.

This young man's disappearance has been on my mind since he went missing. I am going to check out that Unfound episode, thanks!
