Only 2 counts of murder?
The other victims are in a different parish, so it could be we'll see other warrants from that parish soon.

The grandmother of the man suspected of killing five people in Louisiana feared he would come to her home in Virginia, authorities say. While sheriff's deputies checked on the home, he drove up and was arrested.

The Latest: Suspect in Louisiana killings caught in Virginia
:eek::eek::eek:

Edited to add actual content. The grandmother was very smart. I am surprised it ended this way. I, like MassGuy said earlier, thought he would kill himself, or at least be killed in a shoot out with LE.

I think this is from the dad's dying declaration- and they just haven't put enough together to issue the warrant for the other three yet.

And I am stunned he got that far so quickly. I wonder if he was headed there purposefully, or just driving to get as far away as possible?
He was headed to his grandmother's house in Va. She had
been staying at a hotel fearful that he might show up. She
asked LE to do a check on her home to see if he was there
and LE said he showed up while they were checking out the home. Lucky break for LE.

So, LE became aware at some point that VA was a possible destination for him, and yet that was not released to the media/public.

I'm torn between thinking that was genius (b/c LE didn't want him to know they knew he might not really be headed to MS) and thinking LE should have alerted people in the area. But this is definitely one of those "all's well that ends well" scenarios.

What in the heck? The grandmother was worried he was coming for her? What was going on in that family that she would think that?

DailyMail has some additional information and photos, but WARNING - some of the photos are VERY GRAPHIC from inside the Theriot home. Apparently they had several roommates who were not injured but are left with the mess.

One detail is that when he drove up to his Grandma's house, he had a gun pointed out the truck window.

Ugh. Who lets a 5-year-old walk across a blood stained floor?

I like this photo best. He wants to look like the priest next door.

I couldn't agree more... What an earth are they actually doing in that house. Surely they should have been moved out as its a crime scene??

LE may have not been aware he was headed there. But, g'ma probably alerted local LE because of her suspicion and that's how the connection was made.

This is why it matters whether the "mother" DT shot and killed was his stepmother or bio-mom. If he does have a bio-mom she could have been in danger, too. Does she live in MS? Maybe that's why LE thought DT was headed there.

After he had just killed five people he was connected to, in two different places? I'll bet everybody related to him was wondering where he was going and who might be next on his list.

WATCH: "My babies died for nothing." Ernest family says they only have one question for Dakota Theriot who is accused of killing three of their family members, "why?"

There were plenty of red flags, it seems.

https://www.usnews.com/news/best-st...iend-says-she-warned-slain-girl-about-shooter
The friend of a woman who was one of five people authorities say was killed by a 21-year-old on a violent rampage in Louisiana says she warned her friend about dating him.

Sierra Chastant spoke to The Associated Press on Sunday morning, a day after authorities say Dakota Theriot shot and killed five people.
Chastant says Summer had just recently met Dakota. Chastant's father lived in the trailer where Dakota's parents were killed. She says Summer and Dakota met at a funeral about three weeks ago.

Chastant says she warned her friend to be careful with Dakota, saying he was trouble, but she never imagined anything like what authorities say Dakota did Saturday morning.

I wonder if Summer mostly felt sorry for this guy. :(
