Hello! I am new here, so please forgive me for not knowing this. Is it correct to say that all MPs and UIDs in NamUs are "automatically" matched or excluded if they have DNA in the system? Does NamUs have its own DNA database? I understand that CODIS is used for criminal DNA profiles and individual states have their own DNA databases, so I wasn't sure exactly how NamUs works. Thanks in advance for your reply!

Judy Worrell has been excluded as a possible match for this Jane Doe.

I just send a mail to the contacts asking if they could put Deborah Post on the rule out list for this Jane Doe.

Mr. Michael Nance (Regional System AdministratorNational Missing and Unidentified Persons System(NamUs)and Teresa Wilson (AssistantProfessor - Research LSU FACES Laboratory) have both replied on my request.

Ms Wilson wrote the following:

I have updatedNamUs with the exclusion for you. Helen no longer works with us, but Idouble checked with our files and have made the exclusion based on DNA anddental records. Thank you for your email and let me know if I can assistwith anything in the future.

Mr. Nance wrote

These two cases are excluded in NamUs based on DNA.

Just a little update!

I received an email from the case manager in regards to Sandra Norman.

Email:
I spoke with the agency where Sandra was reported missing. There are no dental records available and her family is refusing to give DNA. We cannot do a comparison without one of those. I am making a file note to look into this later if the situation ever changes. However, I think Sandra is more similar to our case 85-01 than she is to 03-35.
Helen

Wonder why Sandra's family refuses DNA testing? I guess there isn't anything else we can do in regards to Sandra being a possible match....

Wanted to pull this up so I don't loose it again

Hi There Bit of Hope, indeed it is a tough case. I know you do all you can as always I do appreciate you very much.

It was noted she had freckles, would have to go back and look possible on her nose I believe it is due to sun exposure. This also leads me to believe she had resided in a sunny region of the US.

I would like to see a post mortem picture....."the real thing" (it sounds so disrespectful, but you know I don't mean it like that)

Just to refresh everybody's mind....

Case History

The victim's nude body was found by fishermen just east of the Interstate 10 twin spans and about 50 yards from the north shore June 19, 1986. A plastic bag was placed over her face, secured with gray duct tape and a 22-pound weight tied to her neck. She had suffered numerous stab wounds to her facial area as well.
Detectives think she might have been married because of markings indicating she had worn a ring on her left hand.
Based on information from meteorologists and marine biologists, detectives concluded the body likely was dumped in the lake between Bayou Lacombe and the Rigolets Pass.
An autopsy revealed the woman died of asphyxia a day or two before the body was discovered.
Investigators could lift only one complete fingerprint from the woman's decomposed hands.
Detectives tried to identify the woman through her silicone breast implants. But the implants did not have serial numbers, and detectives were unable to trace them to the doctor who performed the surgery.
She is believed to not be local to the area.

What about Susan Oliver Scott?

Missing since August 7, 1985/ UID found June 1986, from Baton Rouge, EastBaton Rouge Parish, Louisiana distance to Slidell ca. 1.30 hour
Date Of Birth: July 30, 1956 UID born between ca. 1956 and 1966
Age at Time of Disappearance: 29 years old, would be 30 in 1986
Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 5'4"; UID 5’4” 90 lbs. UID 126
Distinguishing Characteristics: White female. Brown hair;
UID auburn hair, brown eyes. UID brown eyes
Her car was found in the Amite River Diversion Canal five weeks later. The keys were in the ignition, but there was no sign of Scott. Could she be wounded on herhip by that…and get the scars?
Scott was themother of two young children Unknown if uid gave birth before who were in their father's custody. She apparentlyleft her Berryville Street home of her own free will, but investigators don'tknow what lured her out of bed in the middle of the night. Noexplanation for the breast implants.

She definitely looks close. The photo is terrible, but what I can make out seems to match pretty closely. The next thing to do would be check to see whether Susan has DNA and if so where it's held.

Totally agree .... I would like to see them as well, seeing the real thing is better in looking to match a UID to an MP

LPJD's remains are held at LSU faces in BAton Rouge if she was anywhere near a close match to Susan Scott they would have picked up on a potential match.

Both DNA's are in the system

Probably. I'm trying to find if she has a Namus page and if she has DNA available.

ETA: Yes, she has DNA. Here's her link: https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/4200/92

So most likely that's a no-go. And she looked so promising too.

Ida "Faye" Basco is another case thats bothersome there is very little information out there on her. Interesting herself and boyfriend/husband went missing at the same time.

Considered her too. Stats fit quite well, except for the height MP 66 to 70 inches/UID 64 inches. I was also looking at her breasts (ahum) thinking could she/would she wanted to enlarge them? In this case there is also MP DNA and UID DNA. Wouldn't it be the same thing as for Susan Scott, a quick rule out? and a no go...
