(1) single print was lifted from LPJD and (1) partial fingerprint lifted from the duct tape that was used to secure the bag over her head.

Detectives found a partial fingerprint on the tape that they believe belongs to the killer

Wow. That is major. I wonder if they've run that print recently. If they can ID the killer, I'm thinking they should be able to ID the JD.

Pondering about the weight used to lower LPJD down (at least trying) .....and trying to go in the killers mind. It will not get het identity back....but maybe...ringing bells.

Indeed folieadeuxnola, it is not an item you would have usually carrying around, or have lying in your car (but everything is possible of course) and why just use one....(going on a training session with a friend, you would have two, so why not use both, for "safety") You would also have two if you have/use them at home or a gym.

My bad shadow mind says..he/she needed the other one for another body...
or he/she was inexperienced, this was a once, "spontaneous", no research/thinking it out use of the weight....and brings me back to a husband-killer... Killing her most likely happened at home.

Who would do such a thing.. ? I think the stabbing was the first thing that happened, as I recalled reading she was stabbed in her face (very personal I think) ...then putting a bag around her face...must be a sadistic killer or somebody close...overkilling, totally outraged. My gut feeling says...the pregnancy could be the trigger....maybe the baby was from another man than the man she was married/had a relation with or her, married, -so called- lover snapped.

It is common for body's to come up again when lowered down in water, even with weights. I know some nasty cases in Europe where a body came up again, even when weighted down.... Still I don't understand the place she was found, was she weighted down in deeper water and ended at the place she was found...or indeed Folieadeuxnola....he/she was not from the area....but I think you would pick a place where you could actually see somebody disappearing in the water (just to be sure...OMG)

I'm not sure I'd say I agree that's the most likely cause. Certainly possible, but it could have been a lot of other things. Robbery gone bad. Killed her for the insurance. Random killer who grabbed her off the streets. Drug deal or sexual encounter gone bad. Killed her to keep her from testifying against him. Et cetera.

Military wife was speculated .... Its just my opinion that there are lucratively better hiding places within a short distance of both military bases. We frequent nearly once a week to the MS Gulf Coast there are plenty of swampy wooded even deeper water than Lake Pontchartrain dump spots that she would have never been found closer to Biloxi. As far as Belle Chase going south into Plaquemines parish there as well is lots of hiding spots. To me sinking her in Lake Pontchartrain was not smart its decently populated with camps and homes close by where she was found and of course plenty of boat traffic ... Its like leaving her in the wide open. So many possibilites have come to mind ... Dropping her over the twin span bridge ... The bridge then was a narrow 2 lane bridge with very little space to pull to the side .. You would be more risking your life just getting out of the car then add in this is the main way in out of New Orleans its full of traffic 24 hours a day. There were plenty of piers some connected to camps some not that could be accessed. Many camps/homes were weekend getaway homes for NOLA city dwellers. With the time frame the murder occurred during the week so one could access a camp where no one was there go out on their pier and dump her. It could be where the murdered acquired the weight from a camp..

I go back to the article from the mysterious caller that stated two bodies could be found under a bridge ... Very bizarre the call occurred at the same time period LPJD was found .. The deputies went to the rest stop no one was there. The rest stop is east of Slidell .. To access it you would need to be driving west bound ..in a sense it gives me the thought that the call may have been about a different murder ... But whom knows..

I want isotope testing on LPJD so bad ... I can't stand it ... her remains were not reburied after being exhumed their kept at LSU ... iin the instance more testing needed to be done ... depending on the cost I would consider forking up the money for it : ) There were tremendous cutbacks this last year so having the funding available to do that ... well I think we can forget about it

Your the best BOH.. True the isotope does not always result in an MP like we have seen in many cases...however it will give you a general geographical direction to look in..

Hi Justblissxoxo, and welcome to websleuths:

Lucie went missing in 1973. She would have been about 35 in 1986. This one would seem a long shot based on the timeframe, age, and distance. I'm not sure an abdominal scar is so uncommon that it outweighs the other negatives.
