Circumstances of Disappearance:
Boyett resided with his girlfriend, Charlene Knapp, in Kinder, Louisiana and was last seen on December 3, 2001. He picked up Knapp from her place of employment around 4:30 p.m and has never been seen since. Authorities believe the couple returned to their residence shortly afterwards, as their vehicle and personal belongings were located at the house. A frozen chicken was also discovered thawing in the sink. Neither Boyett nor Knapp have been heard from again.

Knapp's purse, Boyett's wallet, and their paychecks were also left behind. The only items reported missing were a television, VCR, table, computer, and telescope. Knapp's only credit card was used to purchase fuel at a gas station approximately 100 miles away in Jeanerette, Louisiana, four days after the couple was reported missing. The fuel was paid for at the pump, so no one saw who used the card. Investigators state there is little evidence available in the couple's disappearances, but foul play is suspected. Their whereabouts remain unknown.

There are multiple articles available on newspapers.com, a more recent (legible) is included in this post. The articles primarily refer to Ms. Knapp as Denise (her middle name) Sawyer, and indicate Mr. Boyett was on probation at the time of his disappearance for the embezzlement charges, of which said articles indicate he was never required to pay back.
