Relatives and friends are beside themselves with worry for an 84-year-old New Orleans man who disappeared without a trace four days ago.

William Bridges earned money by cleaning business parking lots. He was last seen Sunday about 4 p.m. when he left his home to clean a lot of a daiquiri shop in the 4400 block of Chef Menteur Highway (map), according to his son, Ricky Bridges, 57.

"That's the last time they saw him. Usually, he'll be home by dark. He's never out past dark," Ricky Bridges said Thursday.

When he didn't return that night, William Bridges' wife tried calling his cell phone but it was turned off, according to his son.

NOPD ends search for missing elderly man after deadly discovery

New Orleans police are searching for an elderly man who has reportedly not been seen or heard from in at least four days.

UPDATE: The New Orleans Police Department has reportedly located the body of 84-year-old William Bridges who was reported missing the Sunday before Lundi Gras.

Bridges was last seen on Feb. 19, in the 4400 block of Chef Menteur Highway traveling in his dark grey Chevy Silverado.

Further details of the discovery have not been released as the investigation into the incident and death is still ongoing according to Orleans Parish Coroner Jason Melancon. An official cause of death will be released at a later date.
