Hmmm, I used to know people in high school who used to dump their b/f or g/f around Christmas so they didn't have to buy a present. My nephew's g/f dumped him at Christmas because he didn't get her an engagement ring. They had only dated for 7 months and he is still in college and they are both only 25. Smart guy, IMO.
Your nephew is a lucky man!

Just like they always were in the Jessica Simpson/Nick Lachey lovenest? lol!
Possibly true. However, People is quoting Sheryl Crow, whereas your Mr. Casablanca is quoting "an Armstrong relative".

(...and let's face it - he's pretty smarmy, that Casablanca.... )

Time will tell. ;)

Yes, he's very smart and we're relieved he didn't buy a ring. Whew!! :)

Really...Now if the girl had been waiting seven years instead of a mere seven months, I could see her point. Instead, I feel that your nephew is extremely lucky that this gal showed her true colors early on!

I used to think Lance Armstrong hung the moon. Now, I think he's a guy who can ride a bicycle really, really fast and that's about it.

That's it. He's nobody's hero. He's just a darn good bicycle rider. Who has enough ambition to survive cancer.

He left his beautiful wife and three preschool children to carry on a very public love affair with another woman while his children missed him.

Phffft. For Sheryl Crow, what goes around comes around, and hopefully she won't marry some guy and have three little babies when he takes off to fall in love with someone else. Or maybe, she will.

For some reason, right or wrong, I got the impression that he and his wife were having problems for a while (due to his many infidelities). I don't know if I even read that, but that's what I thought. Was Sheryl one of his infidelities?

Good post! And, I will add to that, his wife was with him in the not-so-glamorous times.

This is the first time I've heard this one!

 I can't stand either one of them! Scary Crow shouldn't have gotten involved w/a married man w/children...she's getting what she deserved, imo. The karma was bad right out of the door in this relationship. Besides, I always thought it was weird that Scary looks just like Lance's ex-wife...what's up with that? Was Scary the new version without the strings attached? Hmmm...

And the reason I can't stand Lance is that he interrupts my sex life! Every time the Tour De France comes on, my DH is so into it that I end up going to bed alone! :furious: Just can't see the facination myself...it's just bikes...
He seems like an egomaniac too...why I have no clue...he looks like grown up Opie, no diss at Ron Howard though...love him!

Anyhow, bet ex-Mrs. Armstrong is having her fun seeing them eat Crow...no pun intended...ok, so, pun intended.
Don't even know why I care....

Hope she doesn't take the insensitive guy back.

He also left his wife and family before.
He is no prize. Perhaps too full of himself.

Funny how people are so quick to jump on Lance for doing basically the same thing Mia Hamm did, but she gets away with it. (She left her U.S. Marine husband who she married before becoming rich and famous, admitting she didn't try hard enough to spend time with him, to continue what was believe to be an already started relationship with a rich and famous baseball star who she then married.)

Lance Armstrong left his wife and family long before he started dating Sheryl Crow. If I remember correctly, they had problems before his cancer. I am almost positive they were divorced before he started dating Sheryl. Personally, I think he is an egomanic.

Actually, his wife and he announced their split in September, were divorced in December. He met Scary in October. I googled it. So he technically was still married when he got with Scary.

If she had any class, she would have backed off that and gave it time to be reconcilled, being that there was small children involved. She's a poser anyway...one minute she's pop, then rock, then country, whatever is going along well at the time. I have no respect for any one who jumps on the bandwagon (i.e. also bashing Bush!) to make a buck. No wonder we never hear from her anymore.

The first cut is Cat Steven's... (<- me singing)

WOW!! I think some think of that as versatile...was Elvis a sell out too? He sang more different styles of music than anyone! As far as bashing Bush, guess she has a mind

I also think that if Lance got a divorce, he would have done it with or without Sheryl Crow.

The problem I have is why does everyone think they are importent. It is kinda like you are perceived by TV or the movies. That is not what defines us. Nor does the NFL.I can't buy into this. I am not about star quality in the media. Your star quality will show in so many aspects. Shine people, you make the difference.

Well the upside of stardom is that you can use it to do some good in the world. I think Lance Armstrong's Live Strong" campaign can be described as doing some good in the world.

imo

"Lance usually does what mommy says," Oh, GREAT. A mother-in-law induced marriage.

How I would love one of those. :(
