Where I live, landscapers are expensive. This doesn't seem like the kind of work you could have done without your spouse asking where did the money go.

If "lawn care" was the extent of it, it might not be so costly. My folks (down here in Clackamas County, southeast of Portland) pay about $85 a month for lawn care. In the summer, they guy mows weekly; in the winter, as needed (much less than weekly--the grass doesn't grow much in the winter). He also does some miscellaneous stuff like keeping the shrubs from looking awful, and pulling up weeds where they pop up.

Hello Do not post links without asking. It is clearly stated in the threadiquette. What a mess.

If you can't link you cannot discuss.

Why would he go to LE with this story if he was involved with Kyron's disappearance?

I don't think he went to LE--LE came to him. He may have wanted to implicate Terri to save his own bottom.

At this point, I bet it is a he said, she said.

No wonder Desiree seems wild with frustration.

Some "landscaper"/"yard guy" FAQs..

I used to have a yard guy/landscaper. He charged me about $20 every other week to mow and edge my considerable size lot.
Not exactly Trump Tower over here.

I can't see wasting too much time on the semantics of what they call him. If he stated a profession to LE, he could have said any title, and it was transcribed as 'landscaper' (as the most 'official' type name for that service).

He could be an independent, like I used to use (a man with a van) or part of a large service company (they would send invoices and may be more likely to be noticed by Kaine).

I also object to the stereotyping of the landscaper as Hispanic, although I acknowledge where it comes from. The ONLY way I'd be able to find this relevant is from something GrainneDhu posted in the first thread:
If, as many have speculated, this man is an undocumented alien, a possible motive to lie is obvious: to stay in this country. Maybe he hopes he can get a visa in return for his testimony.

There IS a permanent resident visa status available for people who assist LE. They are NOT slam dunks and details would probably be worked out ahead of him releasing his information.

Ya know, NG really needs to re-think her holiday plans.

If she "bombshells" this on Tuesday, it somehow just won't feel the same.

I think someone said LE found him. What better way to get the focus off himself by blaming her. This is very interesting.I'm getting more interested in this guy.

Geez! This discussion is moving so fast that I can barely keep up while trying to accomplish a few things around the house today.

Just wanted to add a comment to Oxy's post from previous thread"

The landscaper, contacted by The Oregonian last week, confirmed that he was hired to do lawn work at the Horman home off Northwest Sheltered Nook Road. He said he's talked with detectives and could not comment further. His name is being withheld to protect his identity as a cooperating witness in an ongoing criminal investigation.

....................................

Why is the Oregonian protecting this guys identity? All he can do is testify now. Saying who he is does not change that at all. The sting part of the operation is over.

Release this guys name, he is an alleged criminal for not reporting the murder for higher scheme and there are people that might have seen him the day Kyron disappeared.

They should release his name and release his photo.

Dang, now I can't remember if I posted my thought from before,I'm so sidetracked today with outside stuff. If this is true,it does explain Kaine's behavior at the last presser, nervous and licking his lips, who wouldn't be?It doesn't explain his behavior from the beginning with the non emotion, though.I guess it's because he assumed Terri hid Kyron, and if this is true what the lawn guy says, there had to be problems before.

The lawn guy would have to know he would be a suspect and spoken to,so I'm wondering if he talked to family or friends about being questioned. It would get him out of trouble,if he was part of the investigation, maybe even work for his benefit by cooperating with LE.This could all very well be true though and if it is,why didn't she just make it to where Kyron would go live with Desiree?Poor little child, when he comes home, look at how crazy and upside down his world will be.Hopefully Desiree can keep him to give him some kind of stability.

Seven months is a long time to wait for an answer ... or action.

I wonder if she found someone else.

Maybe this is why LE did not want comment on this story. Maybe they have uncovered another possible hitman and are trying to locate this person.

I have to say that this is where the news could end up screwing everything up! I sure hope that's not the case, but you never know. Especially with the twists and turns of this case!

Interesting question as Terri volunteers at the school and I'm wondering how she met the lawn keeper.Kyron played with his fishing pole outside,so I'm wondering if he had any convos with the guy.

As strange as this case is, could it be that LE gave this "leak" the go ahead? It's nothing new for them to say no comment or we can't comment on that, but what if they have a bigger plan in mind? IF someone does have Kyron they would be watching everything about this. They are now seeing that no one is being charged for this latest so they may start thinking that if they return Kyron, they won't be in as much trouble for it? MOO

Since it was reported that Kaine Horman was NOT at home during the time the two 911 calls were placed from the Horman home, clearly nothing that occurred at that time prompted Kaine Horman to leave the residence with the baby and file for a protective order naming himself and two minor children as protected parties.

It seems very clear to me that Kaine was informed about Terrie's "Murder For Hire" plot by law enforcement.

If law enforcement did not give any credence/credibility to the landscaper's claim that Terrie Horman approched him asking him to kill her husband, Kaine Horman, they would have not revealed the information to Kaine.

Therefore, I have to conclude law enforcement found the landscaper's claim about Terrie asking him to murder Kaine believable.

We have read in the media that law enforcement told Kaine Horman to take the baby and leave his residence.

Now we know why he was instructed to do this as well as understand that Kaine was NOT told to leave due to an argument that occurred on the night the 911 calls from the Horman household were made, that his instructions to leave were not simply the result of a police officer advising the couple spend the night at separate locations for a "cooling off" period.

Because law enforcement did not release this information to the press, we have to assume that someone who has had access to the restraining order petition leaked the information to the press (or) someone who Kaine confided in.

Another possibility would be Kaine or Desiree themselves, while asking the reporter to keep the information confidential.

This information is a bomb shell, something which the normal person, although ordered to keep it quiet, would have a difficult time keeping to themselves.

It could be a matter of the information working it's way through the grapevine until it reached someone who could not resist calling the press.

It was reported he didn't go to LE. LE went to him after discovering this potential hit for hire.
