Seems like there are a lot of natural disasters everywhere!

Earthquakes, flooding, mudslides, avalanches, hurricanes, fires. I guess it's normal, it just seems to be too much.

Hope fades in landslide search

INDONESIAN rescuers today unearthed more bodies buried in a landslide that levelled a village in Central Java, but warned they were unlikely to find any survivors among the scores still missing.

Five bodies were exhumed early today and an injured victim died in hospital late yesterday, bringing the death toll at 42, but authorities said up to 200 people could have been killed on Wednesday in the hillside village of Sijeruk.

"Chances of finding anyone alive are slim," Umar Yulianto, a local government official involved with the rescue effort, told AFP by telephone. Search co-ordinator Arif Sudaryanto said about 160 people were still under the mud and rocks, putting the estimated death toll at about 200. Other local officials put the estimated toll at about 140.
