''According to a public statement from the Canadian Joint Operations Command, George Hall, a vehicle technician with the 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron, has been missing since the 2nd of September and was last seen in Ādaži.

The NAF received the information from the Canadian Armed Forces Joint Operations Command. Search efforts for the soldier are underway.

The investigation is being led by the Latvian State Police in cooperation with the Canadian Armed Forces Military Police, NATO’s multinational brigade in Latvia, and the National Armed Forces, “using all available resources,” the NAF statement said.

The soldier’s family has been informed.''

''Lt.-Gen. Steve Boivin, commander of Canadian Joint Operations Command, says Warrant Officer George Hohl was last seen in Ādaži, Latvia.

He says Hohl is a vehicle technician based in Edmonton who is deployed as part of the aviation battalion to the NATO Multinational Brigade in Latvia.

Boivin says Latvian police forces are leading the investigation with support from the Canadian Forces Military Police and the NATO Multinational Brigade, and are “actively conducting search operations using all available resources.”

Ādaži is tiny, six thousands of inhabitants, hard to get lost in there. But there are swamps in the area so if he chose a wrong place for a stroll...

Warrant Officer George Hohl hasn't been seen since Sept. 2, when he went missing in Adazi, Latvia. He was part of a tactical helicopter squadron based in Edmonton, as part of NATO deterrence effort: Operation Reassurance.The Department of National Defence says an investigation and search efforts are ongoing.

''A news release from the Department of National Defence and the Canadian armed forces confirmed his death and said the Canadian Forces Military Police are working with Latvian authorities on the investigation.

It added that there is still no indication that his death poses an increased threat to deployed members’ safety and security.''
