MS's girlfriend might have moved on too. Six months after her BF was locked up, she was telling MWJ that she missed him and that they needed to make plans.

Was that request for a meet up before or after the dates MS is alleged to have been communicating with his ex contrary to the no contact order? That would make me wonder if someone was perhaps passing along information from MS to MWJ, perhaps helping them get their stories together and get around that pesky no-contact order.

The risks of Plea Bargains
Near the top of the list of controversial elements of the Canadian justice system - and possibly the least understood, according to the Department of Justice - is the practise of plea bargaining. Opponents cite a number of flaws in its use. First, innocent people may decide (or be coerced) to confess to crimes they have not committed in exchange for a relatively light sentence, based on the fear of harsher penalties that may be levied if they were convicted in court. Second, victims are often not involved with plea bargains, and may feel the severity of their experience has been undermined by the lighter sentence or downgraded charge offered in exchange for a guilty plea. Third, plea bargaining can be seen as flying in the face of the principles of justice, as by its very nature it prescribes a lighter sentence of charge than the law sets out for a particular crime. And fourth, criminals’ records may not reflect the crimes they have actually committed if they are able to plea down to a lesser charge.

Yes, that's what I said - in a plea bargain you plead down to a lesser charge. Thanks for the confirmation.

There are no dates on Instagram comments, but the picture was posted in October 2013. It would seem odd to me that a comment would be directed to her from an old posting, rather than a more current one, so I'm thinking that it was probably close to that same time. MS was alleged to have been communicating with her between April 10 and July 31 of 2014.

Funny, MWJ's comment back to her.

Funny, MWJ's comment back to her.

His comment was funny in an interesting way, almost as if he was expecting some sort of bull*#%! from her for some reason. Maybe that's just how their relationship always was, or maybe he had some reason to expect it this time. And Bull*#%! can have a few different meanings, really. It can mean anything from lies and deceptions to minor hassles to serious trouble, very interesting, in my opinion.

Quite a few posts from Laura's thread were moved over to "Dellen Millard & Mark Smich chgd w/Murder; Christina Noudga, Accessory #3".

If you can't find your post, that's probably where it's gone.

Was Laura's phone ever located and what kind of phone was it?

That June, Thomas Ryan called his niece to talk about his upcoming wedding near the end of the month. She told him she wanted to bring a new date, but was upset when Ryan said no.

“She said he’d be taking her travelling for a little bit. She was impressed that he was a good photographer and had money and a good-looking fella,” Ryan said about the new flame he now believes was Millard. Babcock never showed up to the wedding.

Hmmm. I wonder where she was going with him?

All the reports state is that her last calls were in early July. Not that it was shut off. So if it was on, where was it pinging?

Why is Smich charged with her murder? Why was his charge announced at the same time as Noudga's charge? And on the same day as MWJ's charge? The gun purchase is a link since the date falls around the time she disappeared. The incinerator purchase is a link since the purchase date falls around the date she disappeared. MWJ is linked to coke. Laura was apparently doing coke. What about Smich, Millard and Noudga? Did they use, purchase and distribute coke too?

I wonder if BB has records of where her phone was and when it was shut off?

I'm thinking 5 Maple Gate Ct and the cast of characters hanging around there before and after WM's death is a link as well. LB stayed in a hotel one night correct? While there she was calling DM? Where did she stay until she made her last call? Where was her phone when she made that call? LE may not be able to get those records if she had a blackberry since they didn't get on that investigation right away.

Bring her new beau to a family wedding? Why would she think he'd want to do that? I bet CN wouldn't have been too pleased with that.

I hope you don't mind me once again referring to MR's case. HTH though in answering the BBM Kamille. This is just a snippet from the long article relating to MR's BB and evidence retrieved from it. Footprints and lots of them.

Michael Rafferty’s voluminous cellphone records went under a microscope on Thursday as the jury at his murder trial listened to a Bell Canada data analyst connect dots on the afternoon and evening that eight-year-old Victoria (Tori) Stafford was kidnapped and beaten to death.

And while just a few of the records were of direct relevance, the remarkable number of calls Mr. Rafferty placed that day, and in the subsequent weeks before his arrest, suggested, as the trial has already heard, that his secretive life largely revolved around his constantly thumbed BlackBerry.

The difference here being that LE didn't try to get extensive records of LB's phone until at least a year after her disappearance. Not sure her service provider would keep records like pings and locations for long on a smart phone. And unfortunately they probably don't have the actual phone, nor would it be backed up to something like iCloud. So the records for her phone would not be nearly as extensive as those for MR's phone at the time of his crime.

Well with any luck, hopefully in July 2012, when LB's mother and SL approached LE about her disappearance, with her cell phone print out in hand, LE made a request to her cell phone records and put them in her file waiting for someone to look at them. Wasn't there some kind of transition going on in that division with LE in July 2012? Retirement? MOO.

Truthfully I'm not worried if LE may have missed/lost some tell tale information to do with her cell phone. LE likely have other solid/direct evidence to prove guilt against the accused. MOO.

That's true. For all we know they may have found something in that incinerator that relates to LB. Even a professional cremation does not completely destroy all teeth, bone etc. Cremains still need to be ground down after cremation. And particles from one person can be left behind in the chamber and mixed with another. Not to mention metal from jewellery, dental work, clothing. It's possible that this happened in the incinerator from the farm. Only the murder trial for LB will tell I guess.

MOO

LE didn't just go back to the farmland for that second search on a whim. They went there for a purpose and I believe that search was productive in finding evidence related to LB's murder. Four months after the arrests of DM and MS, LE found something in their investigation which lead them there but that's JMO. Of course reporters were told nothing was found, that doesn't surprise me in the least. By that point in time there was a PB heavily in place and they were not going to jeopardize this case by speaking of their discover to the media. What would be the benefit at that point? They already had the suspects in jail. MOO.

Police have spent two days searching the barn on Millard’s Roseville Road farm. Police have not disclosed whether any new evidence has been found or what new information led them back to the farm they already searched in May.

Different police jurisdictions , it was my impression when the charges were laid in the LB murder it became a Toronto Police affair and it is like they put on a big show and search at the farm to make it look like they were doing something.

I suspect they had evidence from other sources , not from the farm , and they had it (evidence) before they went to the farm.

It was like a publicity stunt focusing on irrelevant barrels , ground penetrating radar and excavations in a nice flat accessible area right beside the barn , visible to neighbors and traffic , hardly the place someone would hide a body if you own lots of forest with a big backhoe parked in it

Toronto Police needed to be seen "doing something" after a year of "doing nothing" in regards to LB

And they made sure all the media was there to showcase it.

You may be right Arnie. We've been told by LE they believe she died around July 3, 2012. The incinerator was purchased in July 2012. Was LB's body kept in the barn awaiting the arrival of the incinerator? Unless DM put her in something and no bodily fluids leaked, LE may have found evidence she was there. Or if she was shot and in the barn, perhaps they discovered blood. Perhaps her murder was committed out in the bush, the investigation site LE set up when TB was discovered. I guess we will have to wait until trial to find out how they came to the conclusion she was murdered and if they did find any evidence in the barn. JMO.

Police believe Babcock, a social butterfly whose friends and family have waited two years for answers after she disappeared without a word, was killed around July 3, 2012.

http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/2...e_she_was_reported_missing_police_allege.html

“An ‘Eliminator incinerator’ designed to dispose of livestock remains was purchased by Dellen Millard in July 2012,” said a police officer involved in the case. “We would like to know for what purpose he decided to make this purchase.”
