There is a vehicle parked there, and the angle the photo was taken at, the mirror is in the way of the top of the board.

I can't see that, for the mirror to be small it would have to be 10 or more feet back from the camera.

and likely was. Photographers probably weren't allowed in close to any of the action.

Thanks Swedie, A question, why is the top of the board blanked out in the picture, and that board looks too new to be just laying around in a barn.
Lumber weathers and turns gray before long, that board looks quite new. Just an observance and a question.

You can see the part of the board covered by a paper bag. Many of us commented on it as it happened. A vehicle side mirror is shown in this photo.

The vehicle/mirror is parked in front. The officer walking with the board is way further back and the top of the board is being "covered" in the picture by that side view mirror. You can see the arm of the mirror extending down and to the left of the picture, where it would be attached to the vehicle. I don't know what you are referring to with it being small? The photographer (from media), obviously could not get to a proper standing viewpoint to capture the best image, without having an obstacle in the way.

Kramkat I did not think he was involved in murdering her , but helping dispose of the body. If the phone records show he was there he must have helped to murder her. They were a team I guess. sick.

Yeah that is a nice gesture, the Crown have worked hard to convict these two, the grueling Tim Bosma case and now this one. It is an unpleasant thing to have to go over all the testimony and a lot of it about all the problems Laura had. I hope the witnesses are almost done and they can move to the other evidence. I am tired of hearing DM ask stupid questions.

Wondering if employees were at "work" July 23 when the eliminator was supposedly run at the hangar. Takes a good 4 hrs and with TB had to wait until next day to clean it out as it was too hot apparently. Wonder about employee records for July 23 & 24.

Regarding the girl meeting her in a park, or on her front step - maybe her place was across the road from a park or beside one. Both could be possible.

As for the wood plank, wood still looks like that after 30 years inside a barn. A blood soaked board wouldn't be harmed much by carrying it across a field.

Is it possible LB dropped the dog off when her parents weren't home?

I think the idea that DM told her he was taking her on a trip so no one would wonder where she was is a good guess.

What vehicle did DM drive at that time? If they killed her at his house, they would have had to transport her in one of his vehicles. It's possible there was DNA there too.

Some posted up thread about someone with pink or red hair IIRC. Was it Trevors perhaps?[/U]

marianne boucher‏ @CityCourtsTO 5h5 hours ago
Millard: Afternoon Ms Trevors
Trevors: Goodafternoon.
Millard: Question about color , your hair is spectacular magenta?
Trevors: Red

Millard:Babcock had been dropped off in a park w all her stuff, and you invited her to stay the night.
Trevors: Yes, I gave her option

Shannon Martin‏ @ShannonMartinTV 7h7 hours ago
She was outside on her front step, and saw a girl get out of a cab with a little white dog and a pile of luggage.

Shannon Martin‏ @ShannonMartinTV 7h7 hours ago
Trevors approached the girl - who turned out to be Laura Babcock - after ten or 15 minutes, and Babcock told her she had no place to stay.

CanadianGirl posted earlier about her feeling that some kind of hidden communications were going on.. and when I saw this about the 'magenta' hair, it made me feel that way at that time too. Why point this out? Bizarro again.

True.. but yet they undoubtedly forensically examined DM's Yukon.. and we heard nothing about evidence having been found inside? I wonder if *all* of DM's various vehicles were examined, ie the red truck, the 'white van'? I would think that any such evidence would have been part of the Crown's opening remarks, but yet nothing to that effect that I'm aware of? I suppose if they wrapped her in a tarp, it's possible that none of her DNA would have transferred into the transporting vehicle? If there was a mattress... I guess that also could have been wrapped in plastic before transporting to wherever it went to?

Musicaljoke, you had asked me questions based on my post last night, in the closed thread now. Sorry I don't know how to bring your post over to this thread so I just copied and pasted your post here. I hope I've been somewhat able to answer or shed light on your questions. MOO.
Your post: Thanks for this thoughtful response. You have provided a great wrap up.
Q'n: How does the timing of the breakup and restoration of their relationship, fit with his attempt to build a cremation device, and with the ordering and purchase of the emininator? Can you fit those events into your account of what may have happened?

Good questions MJ. I'll see if I can make sense of it myself hahaha. I suspect these three "friends" were having "catty" issues prior to LB's birthday (February 12th). CN knowing LB had been intimate and in a relationship with DM prior to her, CN likely carried some jealousy and mistrust toward LB. I'm only speculating of course, but perhaps it started a few months prior to that nasty text message from CN to LB on her birthday.

DM requested SS build him the incinerator (according to SS's testimony) late 2011, early 2012. I would say SS was probably more "on the money" with early 2012...which of course was right around the time of LB's birthday in February. We know LB dated SL for 18 months and they broke up at the end of 2012.

LB introduced DM to her father in 2009, and I don't think there has been any clarity as to how long they actually dated, but they had an on again off again sexual relationship, and it seems they kept in contact right up until the end of her life. Perhaps someone else can clarify as to LB and DM's relationship timeline. HTH. ALL MOO.

In late 2011 or early 2012, Schlatman testified, Millard asked him to build a homemade incinerator to "burn off garbage" from his properties.

The Crown alleged Millard sent Noudga a text message in late spring of 2012, stating that he would eliminate Babcock from their lives: “First I am going to hurt her. Then I’ll make her leave.”

From that winter day, maybe seven or eight years ago when his daughter introduced him to her date, standing in the doorway of their home, Clayton Babcock had never spoken to the young man again.

http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/canada/toronto/laura-babcock-trial-day-7-1.4379268

"She saw a cab pull up and a young woman with a pile of luggage and tiny white dog got out. The pair settled on a park bench."

This is all so heart breaking and im glad to hear Lauras family seems to be holding up ok. I envision that she was out of control with the drugs and already being outgoing with a bubbly personality perhaps the drug use magnified that as well as any mental health issues she may have had. Her parents were fustrated with her behavior and not having it, her good friends were trying to support her but fustrated as well and then the ones who wanted to party or use her escort services could only put up with her drug induced antics so long. Maybe even a chemical imbalance with the cocaine.. she just needed to get clean and get the help she needed with her whole life ahead of her... so sad. I think she was just totally on DMs case whether using a pregnancy or something else against him. I wonder just how deep their connection was that this casual sexual friendship kept going on with DM even a guest at her Bday party well she was with SL. Who knows what she had on him but he is a sick person and decided to take her life. I have no doubt there are solid details in the evidence to come that will leave no doubt for this jury. IIRC they got a lot of info and texts etc from her laptop and other devices in Tims trial. All MOO

I think that it is a roll of the dice most days. It was my first time going and I arrived at 9:15 to go through round 1 of security. Made it up to the court room and waited for 20 mins to go in. There were about 10 people ahead of me. Apparently this was much less than most days. When we went out for the break there was a large group of students who had waited for 2 hrs so we were behind them. I abandoned and went home at that point. It sounds like some of my fellow WSers made it back in. The highlight of my day was after 4 years following these trials finally being able to put so,e faces to names that I have chatted with over here. [emoji177][emoji177][emoji177]

I too am curious about that board. But am really interested in hearing the testimony that caused LE to go back to the farm, this time looking for evidence of the murders of LB and WM. Especially why they looked in the particular place they did with all that fancy equipment! I now live on that same road, kitty corner by less than a country mile, and the new owners have done a wonderful job of "prettying" up the property but still makes me sad as I drive by everyday saying a prayer to all those hurting over this awful mess.

Honestly after sitting in and listening to DM cross a witness today, I don't think anything he said was code for drugs or anything for that matter. I think he just is trying to come off as relaxed and he probably just misses chit chatting with other people. So comments like asking or stating that the witness' hair was magenta was just that, a comment. He is still seemingly trying to get his sea legs in the courtroom when crossing witnesses so he seems to just make awkward comments or questions, IMO.

He seemed to struggle sometimes with just the basics of crossing a witness properly nevermind being cryptic in the process.

Also while I'm on the topic, IMO, I totally believe the first witness today Dean that he has never done cocaine.

MS is charged with *FIRST DEGREE MURDER* alongside DM. By definition, that means he is *very* involved with the murder. Not just an accessory after the fact.

The jury was shown photos of Smich standing in front of “The Eliminator” and of an object wrapped in a long blue tarp — taken on Millard’s phone July 4 — the inference that Laura’s 5-foot-10 body was contained within. http://www.metronews.ca/news/toront...tails-laura-babcock-murder-trial-dimanno.html

We've also seen pictures of the forensic team at the farm, carrying a blue tarp filled with straw. I don't imagine it could be the same blue tarp, could it?
