So let's say Axelrod and Ari and Carney were on a foreign fact finding mission of some kind. And late one night, 20 of them drank the local wine and sitting by a local private beach, they all decided to jump into the water for a midnight swim. And let's say Axelrod jumped into the ocean, in the dark, in the nude. Does anyone think any of the dems would be calling for his resignation and for him to be fired? A year later, no less?

Did this, in fact, happen? Is this a hypothetical being compared to something that happened? Fiction vs. Reality?

They're bringing it up a year later ? It was in the middle of the night and he was with his wife. It was not tax payer funded. Being naked isn't a sin.
