There is a new technology where x-rays are used to lift fingerprints. I found this article to be very informative. If you read through it, it tells you this technique is commonly used in cases involving missing children and it tells you why.

I don't know if that is what they are using, but it sure would make sense to me.

LOL, oh don't get me started... (Maybe it's not a dog at all. You know they're replacing dogs with pigs and birds right?)

*nods* And flies with teeny tinee transmitters glued on them.

Unless it was buried. If I had told LE that burglars took my phone I would not just throw it in the yard. I would bury it there.

But then there would be obviously disturbed dirt and again the metal detectors would not be needed...

I am coming to this thread late... Do we know what the search warrants say?

OT, but for anyone who knows how to capture a screen shot, I would love to know how to do that, DM me, TIA

apologize if this has already been answered.
On a mac, you press <command> <shift> <4> at the same time. Then a cross hair thingy will come up and you can place it where ever you want the picture. (you'll hear a click). Then search for the file on your desktop.

An easy way with my regular computer is using the snipping tool. I have mine pinned to the taskbar for quick access.

I am in the insurance industry. I don't work with homeowners but have taken a class on it. My course material states all homeowners policies exclude "destruction, confiscation, or seizure by a public authority." (other than to prevent the spread of fire)

I don't know about suing LE.

Russell Williams (the ex colonel)wife put in a claim to sue LE when her hardwood floors were scratched when they searched the house. Now I cant remember the outcome of it.

Found the info on the claim...LE agreed to pay $3000 towards the floors, the link no longer works.

Search warrants do have time periods, not indefinite. Depends on the type of case, type of warrant. If they didn't have time frames nothing would get done, and all these people would be in and out of your stuff anytime they wanted.

Yes, I'm in Ohio, the local nut case down in zanesville let all of her exotic animals go, we have all manner of lions, tigers, and bears on the loose (REALLY). They've shot a few lions, Jack Hanna is helping. It's raining cats and dogs here (or should I say lions and wolves?) so the animals are all hunkered down and not going far. Probably not a good end for the animals....

Off topic...but official word is now that all those animals are accounted for except for one monkey and one wolf.....48 killed and 6 others taken to local zoo or shelter facilities.

That's an awesome question, I've always wondered that too!

They sure do, can't have a warrant for anytime you want as long as you like, that would be unconstitutional........ They have a scope and timeframe.

But would you bury it in the front yard?

Probably not, but then again I would never stage an abduction to cover up a missing child---so it is often hard to second guess someone's actions.

BI spokeswoman Bridget Patton said the search is not based on any sort of tip. Patton said they were restricting media access because agents are using a procedure involving dogs that they don't want taped. She declined to elaborate.

Sounds promising.

Speculation:

1. Baby was found in woods yesterday (so many people were there, no-fly zone, etc.)
2. The parents were asked for saliva and hair samples last night
3. Search warrant obtained last night
4. While the dna results come back to match Lisa, they are gathering as much evidence as possible at the home, such as traces of blood, cell phone chips, etc.
MOO!

Love the theory. I question whether this could be prevented from leaking. I would hope yes, but the cynic in me.....

Has that type of thing been pulled off before (LE holding back that body has been found)?
