When fully charged and not being used, mine will last about a week. If turned off I don't know how much longer it would last, but I would think it would increase the time considerably. And you have to remember that at least one of the phones was new. Which means a new battery.

Some members told me that cell phones will send out a locating signal even when powered down. How long a cell phone will send this signal is unknown to me. I would imagine it would depend on the model of phone. We don't have that information as far as I know.

If they found something out in the woods today, would they have left the scene that fast?

Do we know if they have left the scene for sure? All of them?

Besides it isn't like it was in Caylee's case. Lisa's remains should be pretty much intact. So they aren't looking for bits and pieces, and shouldn't take as long to recover.

Interesting, but do we know that DB lived there for sure and, if so, when did she move away from there?
Yes, she lived there with her husband (not Jeremy) at Ft. Bragg, but I don't know when she moved from there.

When I think of everything learned today, I am really beginning to think they have found her remains. I know, I know I am probably getting ahead of myself.

During the search today LE got the ground sifters out
A no fly zone was ordered.
A new search warrant on the house (which means LE had to specific things they were looking for, and reason to believe they would be in the home.)

If they would have found her body today they would have had o take tons of pics for evidence and all of that, so it would have taken some time.

I thought of that too. I have never known LE to be able to keep it quiet. Either a searcher told media, or the media could tell from the coroners van was seen or many times the family reaction they could tell. But in this case, the search area was where the media couldn't access it or watch it. All the searchers were professionals. And the family may not be told yet.

As far as notifying the family. I would think they may not have to yet. Ok, LE normally goes to the family and tells them if they believe they may have found a loved one. But because it is preliminary, I don't think it is a requirement, I think it is a curtesy. In this case if parents are suspected, they may use the "body not identified yet" as a reason not to notify. Because identity has to be formally established.

Respectfully...that is just not the way it works. If the body was found today, LE would most likely still be there processing the scene, taking photos, examining the area, etc. <modsnip>.

I dont think they are in the house, but they could be. I think those phones were pinging from the woods they have searched. moo

The pings will give a certain area based on the cell tower, but not a specific place. I remember hearing "woods by the house", but I'm not sure how they could have been that specific or where this information came from.

Is a cadaver dog the same as a scent tracking dog?

Thanks

Does anyone have a link to the presser when SY talks about them searching the home? IIRC, he said it was with the parents' permission and something about (paraphrasing) well, since they're letting us be here, we're gonna stay here or something vaguely like that. Plus, there was vid. of some of the searchers wearing the protective gear.

It just seem to me that they already did a pretty thorough search, so I wonder why the warrant now??

It might extremely irritating to see these phone pinging in the area but not be able to find them.

A good defense attorney will file a motion to suppress any evidence collected without a warrant. Now that the parents have lawyered up, any evidence previously removed from the home may not be allowed in court. For instance, the receipt for the wine could be suppressed as well as the video of Deb purchasing the wine if there was no warrant in place when those things were obtained. Getting a search warrant is the best way to keep the evidence "clean" so to speak.

I have always thought if the mother had anything to do with this..she did not go far to hide Lisa!!

Unless she didn't actually hide Lisa. Maybe she called or texted someone to help her who took little Lisa far away from there.

Not if the parents gave permission to search.

If I were the parents I would have let them search from day one just to get the guilt off me and let them move on with the investigation. By not cooperating they have let precious time looking for baby Lisa slip by.
They have let them search - many times. Now they are looking for something specific. Very specific. Could have had to do with the Grand Jury or any of the recent searches.

FORGIVE ME GRAPHIC what would be left of a small baby in the woods?
She would be like little Caylee by now. If a man did walk with a baby only in a diaper as reported in the beginning of the case.............I am very sad, I don't think they will find a baby unless she is in a container.

Or maybe now they will be able to take the place apart.

I could easily see the phones being somewhere in the house or a house nearby. I don't think that Lisa is close-by though...:(

No. Scent tracking dog tracks live scent, and cadaver dog senses dead people.

Right...what I mean is can one dog be trained to do both types of searches?

If they had the parents permission to search, would that not be suffficient? The video of DB buying wine is pretty useless anyway since she has admitted to being tanked.
