Whitney Mills, 40, a Clearwater, Florida estate agent who was deeply involved with Scientology shot herself on May 12 and later died. Mills had reached the highest level in Scientology.

The court documents show process servers attempted to serve papers to Miscavige 27 different times over the past few months in the Clearwater, Fla. area and in Los Angeles to no avail.

A motion to serve Miscavige by default filed in Florida court on Dec. 13 read, "there is more than enough evidence to demonstrate that [Miscavige] has intentionally concealed his location and erected obstacles to evade personal services of process."

On 2/14 a judge ruled that DM had, more or less, been served by default:

After 10 months, U.S. Judge Julie Sneed ruled that David Miscavige "is actively concealing his whereabouts or evading service," according to Tuesday's court filing.

He's "deemed to have been properly served as of the date of this order (Feb. 14, 2023), and therefore has 21 days to answer or otherwise respond" to the allegations in the lawsuit. "
