Bill Clinton tried to broker Led Zeppelin reunion (AP/Yahoo)
NEW YORK (AP) — It's a diplomatic failure at the highest level: Bill Clinton couldn't get Led Zeppelin to reunite.

The CBS "60 Minutes Overtime" webcast reported Monday that the former president was enlisted to ask the British rock gods to get back together last year for the Superstorm Sandy benefit concert in New York City. He asked, they said no.

Led Zeppelin last played publicly at a one-night reunion in London in 2007.

It seems to me that there is a point in time where "older" rockers should just forgo the reunion concerts and age gracefully...I saw the Rolling Stones on TV the other day...and it was pretty bad. Although, I'm all for geriatrics getting in physical fitness everyday!

I'm crossing Bill off my "brokering reunion of the Smiths" list.

Maybe a corrupt former president wasn't the best person to enlist.

They just weren't on the same Page.

But doncha think this is probably truer than ever the older they get?

I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no girl reaction
'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no

And retire and go away.

They were on the Sunday Morning show or something like that a few years ago, guess it was 2007 after that last performance, and, they said no more tours, no more shows together as LZ.

They all do separate things though.

What do the pundits have to say about this?

Arias "verdict watch" seems to be a mirth-drainer today.

But really, sending in Bill (I Never Inhaled) Clinton on this? What was Zep to think??

What was Zep to think??

I think it depends on what the meaning of 'what' is.

Maybe that's why they didn't even consider enlisting George w.

Okay....Sorry....but I'm taking any ole excuse to post this Zeppelin tune 'cause I really dug it when the Wilson sister's did it a few months back. No Zeppelin, but here's Ann and Nancy with John Bonham's son, Jason, on drums- with Page, Plant, Jones and the Obama's watching them perform!

Just a guess, but I doubt a rock supergroup thinks a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 is "corruption".

More likely members had other commitments or simply haven't played together since they "reunited" for Live Aid in the 1980s.
