We have a little brouhaha developing where I live.

A group of people, on-line, are attempting to doxx random counter-protesters who attended a BLM rally locally. The counter-protesters are being accused to being "nazi's" due to their mode of dress and tattoos.

Their photos, their kids photos, their places of work, their addresses, etc. are all being posted on-line. And claims that several of them have been fired due to their employers being approached by those doxxing, have been made. Not sure if this is true, or just immature bravado claims made by the doxxers.

If they are, in fact, nazi's, that is abhorrent, but not illegal in the US, to my knowledge.

At this time, I believe there are at least 5 or 6 men being doxxed and they are their families are being harassed, (on-line and maybe in real life, but I do not know that for sure) by a group of about 15.

So, my question is - is there any kind of valid, legal steps that can be taken to stop this witch hunt? And if there is, is it worth pursuing; i.e. will they win?

Try the website of your state's Attorney General -- probably a Cyber Crimes unit there.

That unit knows the law & can track on-line activity.

That would help in my state -- yours may be different.

Civil rights organizations, also.

Thanks for the tips! Am doing some research now. I just hate that these innocent people are being burnt at the stake like this. :-(
