Legal Questions for our Verified Attorneys - Hailey Dunn case - *No Discussion*

I'm not a criminal lawyer either, although I've handled criminal cases at the appellate level. But I agree FWIW.

Snipped by me for space.

Handling crim cases at an appellate level is hardcore, for anyone who doesn't know. I've seen your posts and the level of knowledge you have about these matters is excellent. It takes me much longer to provide a reasonable answer and I am not too confident in my ability to answer criminal law questions adequately, even though some of the evidentiary stuff, procedure is basic for most attorneys. But ask me a family law question and I'm on a roll! So I will tend only to answer the crim law stuff when you are not available!:blushing:

Hi,

Question: Will charges be brought against the perps for the child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on the computer and memory stick that was found under "Federal Law" or "State Law" in Texas, or both ?

Thank You !

Can LE count individual still frames which compose a video as "images"? Technically speaking, a video displays 24-30 frames (stills) per second, in quick succession. I am not suggesting that this is what happened in this case, but if so, it could amount to a handful of short video clips, totalling about an hour. That doesn't make it any better, but could explain how this HUGE number of images could have been acquired in as little as a couple of hours. If they CAN regard the video as a series of stills, I assume that only those frames that actually contained inappropriate images would "count".

Hey there you verified lawyers that lend you alls minds..knowledge ..and experience to all of us lay ppl not familiar with the intricate ends and outs of our court systems and alot of the laws and procedures that go along with the court system...I thought I'd never find you guys..lol..and actually had to have grandmaj assist me in finally locating our verified lawyer thread for little miss Hailey Dunn{Thanks again gran ;)}

So my top question for you guys is about the Grand Jury procedure..I am gonna be lazy and just copy/paste my post from another thread which I voiced this inquiry...and TIA to any of you who may have a spare moment to peek in here and take the time to explain :)

I mean we all know for fact that ALL ARRESTS do not have to be pre-screened and run by and "approved" by a Grand Jury??..right??.. I mean that's just not the case.. There infact are arrests each and every hour of the day that HAVE NOT BEEN BROUGHT BEFORE A GRAND JURY..

Billie Jean Dunn was arrested and charged with three misdemeanor crimes a month ago and we all know that arrest was not pre-approved by a Grand Jury{and I have thought it was a difference possibly in severity of the crime [i.e misdemeanor vs. felony]..but I don't believe that's the case either}

I realize there has got to be a rhyme and reason to why this is done I guess I just need it dummied down in terms that I can understand..lol..What is the deciding factor of whether or not a case has to go before a Grand Jury for their "pre-approval"? Why some cases but not others? Why any and not all??

As I said I am certain there is good reason and that I just am not aware of it but this is something I have wanted to know the answer to since the whole GJ parade of testimonies began in little Kyron Horman's case AKA Terri Horman as the "alleged" by many perp in that case???

TIA to anyone willing to explain..:)
