Found Deceased Lewis Penfold-Roche, 18, Last heard from 5pm in the Billingham area, Cleveland, 26 Jan 2024

There is sad news coming through about Lewis. Cleveland Police have issued the following statement:

"Officers today (Monday 11th March) received a call around 3:20 pm after the body of a man was sadly found in the river near to Tees Barrage in Stockton.

Whilst no formal identification has yet taken place, the family of missing 18-year-old Lewis Penfold-Roche from Billingham have been informed and continue to be supported by specially trained officers.

Our thoughts remain with them at this extremely difficult time."

Police had been looking for the 18-year-old since he went missing on 28 January.

Absolutely heartbreaking news.

I imagine he entered the water at Billingham beck and then has been swept along to Stockton, it would explain why there was no sightings of him after he was last seen heading in that direction.
