If I were to write a book about you, it would be aptly named 'A Nation's Little Girl.' There are a thousand loving mommies who wouldn't hesitate one moment to wrap you in a warm hug - a thousand gentle daddies who would bounce you on their knees.

I'd fill the pages with things people need to know - like how your impish smile made your eyes twinkle and how it lifted the spirits to hear your precious song. You sang so well!

I would write about the nation of people that put aside their differences and held hands with you on their minds...the nation of people that lost sleep while you were lost...and who cried when you were found.

I can only hope that before I join you, I will have the chance to touch as many people as you have in your short time. You've taught me to cherish every moment I have with my children...to hold them extra tight. Because of you, I have faith in humanity again...in the kindness of strangers...and the strength of people.
