Around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, deputies received a call from a Dollar General employee after a customer told the employee that he believed that he found a human skull while walking in the woods near the store.

Skeletal remains found near Dollar General store identified

A worker contacted the sheriff's office after a customer said they saw a human skull in the woods near the Dollar General on Highway 150 in Lincolnton.

The remains were identified as those of 53-year-old Jim Dennis Ramsey, who was reported missing by his brother in June 2022.
