Lindsay Lohan and more…

Before you write off "Liz and Dick" remember that LL is not the only actor in that mess.

Grant Bowler, who plays Richard Burton, has long been one of the biggest honeys in Australia. (Check out google imagines...wow!) :p

A seasoned pro (and all round nice bloke) who has acted in every single Aussie soap and series you could care to name and a few you can't, Grant says his 6 week experience in working with LL was an exercise in tolerance and patience.

During the short 6 week shoot, LL production was delayed twice due to LL's off screen antics.

LOCAL actor Grant Bowler has called working with Lindsay Lohan on Liz & Dick an exercise in "tolerance" and "patience".

Bowler, host of The Amazing Race Australia, plays actor Richard Burton and opposite Lohan’s Elizabeth Taylor in the new US TV movie.

Liz & Dick was plagued by delays.

The troubled Lohan was briefly hospitalised in June after crashing her black Porsche on her way to filming near Santa Monica.

Production had to be halted when she was found unconscious in her suite at the Ritz-Carlton hotel.

Lohan blamed exhaustion from the long hours filming Liz & Dick.

“There were exercises in patience and there were exercises in tolerance and I believe it (filming of Liz & Dick) could have been smoother at times,” Bowler told US news show Hollywood Access Live.

I think Grant deserves double the applause for still managing an excellent performance opposite this trainwreck. I note that Bowler was on the same heavy schedule as Lohan (and is 20 years older) yet still managed to turn up on time, stay conscious, not be hospitalised twice.

:cow:

PS. when she appeared on that talk show recently (where she dissed Barbara Walters) her face was incredibly puffy and bloated.

This is one of the first warning signs of alcoholism. Booze bloat settles in the face first.

This girl is in serious trouble...we have another Judy Garland on our hands.

:(

PPS. has anyone noticed all the big roles are going to Australians lately? Insiders say the main reason is because they are more disciplined than US stars, having usually cut their teeth on the long and arduous hours of our local soaps.

They are taught discipline, direction, stamina, and team playing. An ensemble cast means the young ones are just another new face, guided by the old hands with little patience for ego or foolishness, and it is almost an "apprenticeship" for success in the industry.

Heath Ledger, Russell Crowe, Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Guy Pearce, Melissa George, Ilsa Fisher, Julian McMahon, the Hemsworth brothers, (I could go on) all came up through the demanding and gruelling Aussie Soap industry and are now increasingly popular with directors because of it. They are apparently just easier and more professional to work with all round, and have few if any diva type behaviours.

LL take note, there are some gorgeous younger Aussies with an actual work ethic and training snapping at your heels...your fan base won't wait around for ever for you to get your career and sobriety back.

Judy Garland could perform circles around Lindsay. JG had the talent, class and charm ms. Lohan does not and never will.

Lohan arrested again? Like we've never heard that before!!! Goodness, she's such a talented and beautiful woman, I can't understand why she does the things she does. I do know (judging from television interviews and such) that her parents have a whole lot to do with why she acts the way she does. Those two are are a few fries short of a happy meal. Lindsay needs to get her act together.

I'm no fan, but the claim is she was an incredibly talented child, just like Judy.

:dunno:

My daughter's favorite movie was Parent Trap, so it's horrible for her to see LL and Amanda Bynes (another idol) self destruct with drugs, alcohol and associated issues.

I don't know about everyone else but I'm sick of seeing these young, famous, beautiful people die.

I (unfortunately) know a couple of drop-dead alcys and I can see, LL is in Biiiig trouble.

I actually felt really sorry for her when I watched a few minutes of that film on Lifetime the other night. Her acting was atrocious. But not really her fault. Who cast HER as Liz Taylor? What a stupid decision. Elizabeth taylor, one of the most beautiful, gorgeous, charismatic creatures ever, and they cast an alcohol addled LL to portray her?

I remember when I heard that Michelle Williams was going to play Marilyn, and I winced. But she did a great job and was very believable. She actually became her persona, and was excellent.

But Lindsay was a joke. It was awful. But not totally her fault, imo. It was a lost cause from the jump.

If she keeps it up she'll be 6 feet under pretty soon.

I agree. I am sad for this girl. I know she keeps getting into trouble. She can't seem to keep out of the clubs which she sorely needs to do. And it seems that she keeps getting away with conduct others wouldn't get away with (although I'm not totally certain about that because some criminal defense attorneys state these celebs get worse than their own clients).

In any event, her behavior is baffling and irritating. She's a mess.

But I sense a vicious schadenfreude when it comes to Lohan on the part of the public and it's starting to bother me (even though I admit to a bit of it myself at times).

I mean, this girl really struck out in the parents department. They are horrible people, both of them. They don't seem to give a darn about their kid. They just want her money.

And I guess I always knew that but the incident with her mother in the car and her taped call to her father, (which he released), just brought it home to me, what this young woman has been up against. Here she was with her drug-addled, crazy mother in the car, who was causing a scene. Her own mother, fighting her and acting like some decadent rock star. So Lohan desperately reached out to her other parent, hoping for just some kind of advice, solace, help, from someone who loves her. Instead, she got a dad who was trying to whip things up into a greater frenzy and who then sold her out by selling a tape of the conversation. What a betrayal.

I heard the utter devastation in that girl's voice. The realization that she really has no one responsible who cares. No parent who can give her advice and be there for her out of a sense of parental concern rather than self-interested narcissism. Can you imagine how that feels?

I think Lohan (and others like her) need to cut the trash out of their lives, even if that trash is related. But that is so much easier said than done.

I remember going to Orangewood one day (a Children's home in my county that serves kids just taken from their homes by CPS). A little 3 year old girl sidled up to me and said (in Spanish), "When can I go home to my mommy?" The child was either abused or neglected but she wanted to go home. Because the need for a parent is so strong. Because children, even adult children, they love their parents, they need their parents. They just want the abuse or the bad behavior to stop.

Lohan grew up in extreme dysfunction. She is a product of that. She is also very wealthy and famous so unlike the rest of us, she is surrounded by yes men who want something from her and may be afraid to tell her the truth, rather than people who can be honest and blunt. That's because she is famous, and that intimidates people, or because they think she may cut them off if they criticize her or try to change her life. So this girl has no one to trust or to set her straight.

It's really a tragic mess, if you stop and think about it. She never had normal parents or role models she could trust. She mimics the drug and alcohol abuse she grew up with as it is all she knows. She has never had consistent models of normal, functional behavior so she has no clue how to act normally, how to be sober and responsible.

And as a result of that, she is going to continue doing drugs and "partying" and aging horribly and eventually, probably very soon, she is going to die a miserable, lonely and horrible death.

Lindsay Lohan is a human being. She was a cute little girl once. I don't think she deserves what's likely going to happen to her but I don't think she has the tools to stop it. That makes me sad. :twocents:

Whenever I see Parent Trap, I feel bad for her. She was a cute kid and I thought very talented as well. I also thought she did a good job on Mean Girls and on SNL years ago. (Not the last time.)

She is behind all the folks who had at least ONE decent parent.

I am very worried for little sister too. I saw a very creepy, anorexic looking photo of her modeling. She looks so unhealthy. I think she is doing drugs too, poor baby.

i'm sad for her. the early movies she was in she had real potential. she was also growing into a beautiful young woman. now she has certainly had work done to her face in which she didn't need that just makes her look grotesque at times. I haven't seen Liz and Dick so I can't comment on that. Gitana1, your post is so insightful. It would be truly hard to be a put together person with parents like she has. It just fuels her downward spiral in my opinion. I was hoping she was on the up since she had seemed to not be in such trouble but that seems not to be happening anymore. So very sad.

Lindsay Lohan faces four criminal charges in LA and NY on same dayNovember 29, 2012

snipped...NEW YORK – For most, the day you are charged with a crime is one of your darkest. For Lindsay Lohan, that ante has been upped, as the troubled actress was charged on Thursday with not one, but four separate crimes in two different states.

The Santa Monica City Attorney charged Lohan Thursday with three crimes in relation to her June car crash on the Pacific Coast Highway. The three crimes are (1) giving false information to a police officer, (2) obstructing or resisting an officer in the performance of his duty, and (3) reckless driving.

Oh Good Lord! Again? This girl just doesn't get it does she? I agree shes been dealt the short stick when it comes to parents but how long is that a valid excuse? At what point does one have to man up (err..woman up) and take responsibility for their life? She's been in this downward spiral for nearly 10 years now and has had multiple opportunities to straighten this mess of a life out. I do feel for her but she's 26 years old now. Time to reevaluate priorities.

I really liked her in Parent Trap and Freaky Friday, but now she is just a train wreck. Playing the victim card. All the "accidents" are everybody else's fault but Lindsey's. Nobody forces her to go clubbing or drinking and driving. I don't believe anyone is out to sue her solely because she is a star with money.

Yes, drama-queen Lindsay must be real proud of her latest acting role in "Liz & Dick". Within a few days of its release she goes to a nightclub & at 4 in the morning punches another lady!

Bwahahahaha! :great:

Lohan-Assault Arrest

Lindsay Lohan hides under a jacket while leaving a police station in New York City after being booked for assault after an alleged bar brawl Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012.

NEW YORK – "Oh my God! I didn't touch anyone!" :anguish:

"Those were the words of Lindsay Lohan as she was led by police in handcuffs from a New York nightclub in the wee hours Thursday morning for allegedly punching a woman in the face.

The actress was arrested and charged with assault, an NYPD rep told FOX 411.

Lohan, 26, allegedly got into a fight with a female patron at Club Avenue around 4:00 a.m. Thursday when an apparent verbal altercation turned physical, the police rep said...."

And the drama goes on and on..........:banghead:

I don't see how anyone can find humor in this. LL has issues that she can't seem to work out (just look at the parents she has). She needs help, a lot of help - not ridicule. Why do people love celebs when they are up and hate them when they are down? I feel sorry for ths young woman and hope she can straighten out her life before it is too late. God bless LL.

The thing that irks me with Lohan and all the other recognized and rich celebrities is they never really pay for the things they do, they get off so easy. For example, a very famous R&B/pop musician was caught with cocaine about two years back, he had to pay a two thousand dollar fine and do 200 hours of community service. Now, if this was one of us regular folks, we'd be screwed and sitting in jail. I think the reason some of these stars never learn is because they just get a slap on the wrist, when they really should be paying for the crimes they've committed like everyone else who is not entitled, rich and famous.

I get the feeling that this couple, being storefront psychics and all, MIGHT have pulled a scam on Lindsey. Maybe LL was screaming the TRUTH when she said she never hit anyone. This couple might be looking for a quivck out of court PAYOFF.

I have to disagree. IMO Lohan has proved time and time again that she can't handle herself, so this incident is not that far fetched. If this was her first offense or even her second offense, I'd maybe believe she was innocent.

Now it's reported that she consumes up to 2 liters of vodka per day, oh dear.

This girl obviously believes that negative attention is better than no attention at all. Props to Charlie Sheen though, for offering to pay her $100,000 in back taxes (even though he is a bit wonky himself). Once again, if any of us owed that much to the IRS, we'd be homeless lol.
