Linking News Articles

Is there are trick to linking news articles that I haven't figured out yet? Whenever I post a link, is shows up like the one indicated by the red arrow below. But, I see many other posters linking articles that show up like the one indicated by the green arrow below. Am I doing something wrong?

To add, neither one of those were posted by me. It was just a thread where the differences appeared in back to back posts so, it was an easy way for me to provide an example of my question.
