Liquids Banned in Carry-On Plane Luggage

Can you not put your toiletries in your checked luggage, or did that change today? You could buy those travel size containers for shampoos, etc that you put your own stuff in. That way, it wouldn't take up a lot of space in your big suitcase(s).
yeah, I think you can still check your luggage with lotions and liquids, you just can't bring them on the plane.
I just like to bring my carry on and not deal with checking my luggage. Just a personal preference. I check my bag when I need to, so it's not really a big deal, just a minor inconvenience. Those damn terrorists make life more difficult than it needs to be!!!

I know, if I could get away with just using a small suitcase and carry it on, I would never check my luggage. I don't blame you, it's such a hassle and you never can assume that it will arrive with you.

You're right about the terrorists, the world is plenty crazy enough without them. :furious:

Yeah, you can still carry whatever you like in checked luggage.

For all those feeling like the world keeps getting scarier and worse and going downhill - read some history. We worry about terrorists because we no longer have to worry about a war hitting us - people have had to deal with the possibility that they will face an invading army, an occupying army, bombs falling into cities in past decades. And the police - well, go back not much further and the police and the nobles who owned all the land also owned you, and it wasn't even something you could complain about if they grabbed you and did anything they liked! Women were property, children were slaves, and the man of the house generally also had to work like a dog and had his own masters. Go back before bombs and guns, and you've got an even worse life.

After 9/11, I was in Vegas (that's where I was when it happened - at the Tropicana - a nice room near the airport where I could see the runway right there... ). Driving home was the best therapy for me. You see all the huge amount of land here, the cities, the suburbs, and you realize that the terrorists, as awful as they are, can really only land fleabites on us, as a country. Their true impact on the country is making us afraid, if we let them.

Look at this plot - they were working on it, they were turned in by other Muslims in the community, the police found everything out, had complete surveillance on them, and were able to decide when to take them. And that's the best attack they've been able to try since they woke us up on 9/11. It's not such a bad world out there. Most people are good, terrorists use terror because they have little real power, most countries are at peace. Its one of the best possible times to be alive!

i travel on monday, but mr. izzyB traveled today. hated to leave his bag unlocked for the TSA (we have not travelled enough to invest in thos TSA locks since in the past we just carried on our bag). anyway, zero problems getting through, but plane problems of all things. so air travel is still difficult with or without this new thing.

i frankly think the day will come when all carry-ons are banned. i used to not think a thing about flying, but it is getting harder and harder.

LOL, I bet. Some stuff like toothpaste I wouldn't mind, but I don't go on the cheap with all my products, esp. makeup and hair products.
