Thank you for the warm welcome and answers :) There is sooo much information here I sometimes feel overwhelmed reading it all.

Isn't it odd that a defense attorney would make such a statement if his defendant is claiming to be innocent unless he is planning a plea bargin? To me, it's very telling. JB saying this makes me believe all the more KC confided in him Caylee was dead.

I now wonder where this statement falls in reference to the new info on the PI's search.
Thanks again!

Interesting point you bring up, OhDaisy. Statement was Nov.6, PI's search was NOv. 15 & 16 (and possibly a couple more days after that by DC)

In todays daily updates thread there is a link that GA and attorney would be appearing on GMA...this link does not work. I tried googling and came up with nothing, anyone know if they did an interview today?

I think you misunderstood the posting. It referred to Brad C, GA & CA attorney. GA was not with him. Anyway, he was on the Today Show. Title of video is "Casey A forced to appear in court". Brad C doesn't appear until almost 4 minutes into the broadcast. Here's the correct link:

I think you're remembering the 19 or so page document that the defense submitted, back when the death penalty was still on the table. If I'm remembering correctly it was something along those lines.

EDITED to add: Well, It was a 30 page recommendation, (not 19), and so far I can't find that type statement linked to it. But at some point the defense team did make a statement similar to the one you have. Ok, now I'll go get a second cup of coffee, then maybe I can find it for you. Sorry for the "mis-information", LOL :)

Check Nov. 5th on the Calendar in the sticky. Article is linked there.

I see Debs already linked you in :)

:woohoo: :waitasec: I'm going to ask this question one more time and hopefully someone might have an answer or could help me google an answer. We know that the FBI forensic team removed plants (Hibiscus & a pink flowered plant) from the A's Backyard. The FBI also removed plants from the Caylle remains area. After Cayleeys death was she placed in the A's yard where the seedlings from the plants taken may have fallen onto the body, transferred to the remains site and matured in Cayleeys skeleton causing plant growth in the skeletal remains? Could the plants have matured to full growth during the past 7 1/2 months?

Well, I don't have an exact answer to your question, but it's an interesting thought. Evidently, not all hibiscus make seeds. Don't know if this will be of any help, but here is what I found.

" Q. Can I propagate my hibiscus from seed?
A. Yes, but because of the complex genetics of today's varieties, unless yours is a species hibiscus (unlikely), any seeds your plant produces will likely produce seedlings that have different bloom and plant characteristics . If you used pollen from a different variety, the odds are that it will share properties of both parents.
To get a plant to produce a pod, it needs to be a variety that is a "willing" seed producer and you need fresh pollen from a variety that has potent pollen. With temperatures between 60 and 80F degrees and high humidity and these "willing" parents, your chances are improved. The fresh pollen is applied to the stigma pads at the end of the style. If you have been successful, after the flower falls off, a pod will begin to form. After 6-10 weeks this pod (about the size of the end of your thumb) will turn brown (ripen) and open -- exposing black seeds about the size of apple seeds. Sometimes, even with "willing" parents and ideal conditions, it can be very difficult to get seeds"

Were two plants actually dug up and removed from the Anthony yard? Was this just after the arrest, or after Caylee's discovery?

Ooops, sorry KK, I see that BJB already gave a more helpful answer. 7-21 days...now that sure gives us something to think about.

OK, here is my question. After watching Judge Strickland order KC to court yesterday, I understood that she would have to waive, in writing, her wish to not be present at many of the upcoming hearings prior to the start of the trial. I know that the SA had concerns, primarily because of concern that she could, at some future date, claim that she was unaware of what was happening in the proceedings, possibly opening the door for a new trial if she is convicted.
Now, what I am unclear on is this: was it left that she may continue to waive her right to appear, as long as she provided a written waiver ahead of time, but that the Court, if it felt that she should be present, could decide to haul her back in, just like yesterday?
I think, maybe wrongly, that the SA felt she should be at each hearing. Can anyone clarify? Thanks!

It's my understanding that Casey could provide a written waiver of her right to be present, but that she must still appear at each hearing to personally provide confirmation that such waiver was "knowing, voluntary and intelligent." Once the waiver is so validated, Judge Strickland can decide whether or not to accept it. If he accepts, Casey can leave and be absent from the rest of the hearing.

I am trying to pin down the details of what appliances etc the A's have in their garage.
I have seen one pic of the A's waiting in garage when KC was released. There seems to have been a barage of cameras pointed at them that day as they waited for KC. The Garage door was fully open.
Can anybody reference other pics (videos) of the A's in Garage on that day.

Any pic at all of inside of A's garage?

Early this morning Geraldo was on Fox news- 1/9/09 and said a 'Band"- (music band), made a song about Caylees death and he said that was horrid for them to do- Anyone know what band did this?

Do tears leave any forensic evidence behind? What if tears were trapped between layers of duct tape? Is that even possible?

An article on tears and DNA

http://www.molvis.org/molvis/v14/a23/

It appears you CAN get DNA from tears. My thought is though with the tape being submerged it may not yeild anything from tears unless they somehow contained skin cells. MAYBE, they could match her make up? What if a certain shade of lipgloss or something was on the tape (sticky side) from her tearing it with her mouth? (Or, going with tears, mascara?) Unlikely but anything is possible I guess.

I don't know anything about Geraldo on Fox news this morning, but I find it very odd and a little strange that Geraldo would find anything "horrid" concerning this case when he has been soooo "friendsy" and supportive of Casey's attorney JB. Come on, JB has an outstandingly beautiful wife, so how could anybody think he could see anything in Casey!

Can anyone explain why JB has control of Caylee's remains? Is it his job then to arrange the burial/cremation?
Also, is there a particular reason why he wouldn't want KC present at all hearings?
Thx:)

Charo, It was a local band that drove up to the A's house to perform in the back of a truck when LP was there. If I'm correct LP had some choice words for those dudes ! Just another group of people early on in the investigation hanging out in front of A's house for attention.

I'm curious if "the source" of the duct-tape was ever identified..

One reference I found is Dateline claiming "a neighbor" saw the body as it was removed. I'm really skeptical about that... surely that's not THE source?

I notice the MeterReader reports only mention his discovery of the skull. The only connection linking his discovery to duct tape is "a source close to the investigation" says the skull/mouth was wrapped with duct tape.

Early reports of those mysterious sources said "around the skull" but later reports say "around the mouth".

At one point it was stated (NG?) duct tape was attached to flesh, but since then LE has confirmed the remains were sketetal, making that "source" questionable. I'm unable to find anything confirming duct tape was found by LE....only "sources close to the investigation".

IF the only source was "a neighbor said", it's amazing how quickly duct tape on Caylee's mouth has turned to FACT. But is it the truth?

I'd appreciate if anyone could help me on this. Thanks.
