Sorry, this may be the wrong area to ask this question but I have been in lurk mode this past week and the threads are all so very specific in their topics, many being "NO discussion" type threads I am unsure where to pose it.

Does anyone know the history of this home (ie. previous occupants) and whether any previous occupant had passed away in the home? The crime scene techs and other LE involved in the search of the home with HRD dogs and the reported hit puzzle me in light of the report that no sample of the carpeting was cut out or removed from the area the hit occurred?

I hesitated to ask in the HR hit thread or the search warrant thread as my question touches on both but is more specifically about previous residents of the property.

That question has been posed and the defense attorney (Short) alluded to the possibility in an interview within the last couple of days. AFAIK, there is no information to indicate one way or the other whether some previously died in that house in the spot hit on by the dogs.

I do believe one of our HRD experts indicated it was possible for a dog to hit after 10 years or more, but not likely. IIRC...

You can read through the HRD dog thread, and maybe Sarx or Orion can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm left with the impression that IF a dog hit on that old of a scent, it would have to be trained specifically for that. I'm assuming (here I go assuming again!), that the FBI would bring a dog in who would be trained to look for a more "fresh" scent??? Sorry for the graphic! MOO

I am now convinced that it is one or perhaps both of those items is what the dog "hit" on which could have been on the floor & not the carpet at all. The Affidavit said "on the floor" and did not mention carpet.

I feel the same and if that's the case, I find it odd that all those items are things that Lisa was likely "sleeping" in (clothes) or were near her (blanket and toys) at the time. IMO

That just made me think of something..if DB is sooo drunk she has no idea what happened or where Lisa is, how does she immediately know the cell phones were stolen? Maybe her kids grabbed them off the counter and were playing with them while she was passed out.

She probably realized that when she woke up and began checking things out. Or maybe when they wanted to call 911. Good question, don't know the answer. jmo

Couple things from the GMA video:

- I have a big area rug under my bed that takes up most of the room and hides yucky carpeting. Lots of people do. Maybe Jeremy/Debbi did too. Maybe LE took an area rug? Or, maybe they didn't take any carpet, but just items with decomp scent near the foot of the bed - blanket, comforter, clothes - all good possibilities by postered upthread.

- The man going into the woods. All dressed in white? Not a good choice for someone wanting to steal a baby and not be seen in the dead of night/wee hours. Also, it does like he (or she? but probably he) is swinging his arms - doesn't like he's holding anything at all. A pee break is the first thing I thought about when they showed the video; also posted by someone upthread. What would be more interesting to me is video of the man coming out of the woods. If he comes strolling back out shortly after going in the woods, swinging his arms, pee break is most likely. Why no mention of whether he came out or not? It's a fixed camera, I think. I bet he came right back out, but that minimizes the interest in the story (and doesn't help the defense).

I am trying to remember a case where within 3 weeks (and with no arrests), family members of a victim had done a press tour overwhelmingly focusing on their defense, hired defense attorneys that were proactively questioning LE processes in the media, a PI and defense attorneys were flooding the airwaves with alternative theories when LE still has not named the parents suspects. Times have changed; fast forward right to the defense. It makes me sad that it stopped being about Baby Lisa so very early on for these parents (not LE, not entirely the media, imo - the parents and their handlers are driving how this coverage is playing out, imo). This does not bode well for a live Lisa being found, imo. :tears:

:seeya: We discussed this Friday night. indamiddle told us a previous tenant did indeed pass away in the home.

SARX-one of our wonderful sar members- told us specifically that the FBI dog hit on LISA'S decomp scent....not someones decomp from years ago.

This dog was an FBI dog.....he-she knew what to 'scent'.

There is a neighbor across the street that sits out late frequently. I am not saying it did or didn't happen for sure that night, but it is a possibility. It was a beautiful night out and many of us were out that night. Some later than others.

I don't know if anyone touched on this but something is off with me. That the PI would boldly make a statement in what the neighbor did or didn't. He is going off of what Db said to him obviously but I find it odd that he would stretch so far not knowing exactly what this neighbor told LE. Is it their way to try to reach out to this neighbor to get her to change her story? Is the start of the defense going to use the neighbor as the "Krump" card? Just something about this is very off to me.

Didn't even the attorney even touch on what the neighbor saw or did?

My little brain cannot go further but if there is another poster that feels the same, can you expand on it.

Thank you. That much would seem pretty obvious. But since it is currently being debated in this very thread what exactly the dog hit on, I thought it safe to assume we are unclear at this point on what exactly was hit upon.

Yep - that much is true. JMHO that it was the comforter or "cars" blanket that the dog did hit on. I say this because we've only heard of ONE HIT in the entire house. That is illogical to me. Odds that Lisa died in that spot and was wrapped in that spot and then carried out are quite large, especially IF DB was drunk.

So, if Lisa died on a "blanket/comforter", she could have then been moved to other places in the house by just picking up the whole blanket - KWIM?

So dogs can distinguish INDIVIDUAL decomp scent?? If so, how did they have her decomp scent for the dog to compare? I know a tracking dog can track a person's scent after being given a item that belonged to that person, but I've never heard that dogs can tell one person's decomp scent from another.

I think what she said was dogs can distinguish between 'fresh' decomp scent and that from 15 yrs ago.
