Long Island Victims with connections to rehab

If anyone has a link that can back up thise two statements I'll be gratefull:

Just K wrote:
"DS said that Amber had once been roughed up and left by the side of one of the Highways. IIRC, that event occurred sometime in the three months before she was ultimately abducted and murdered."

Mountain_Kat wrote:
"This same client had tried to get Amber to meet him at the Express Holiday Inn in Happauge (where Megan went missing). Amber refused. But he HAD had contact with Amber prior to her disappearance."
("This same client" alleged beeing the one she left with Sep 2, 2010, when she disappeared )

here is a link about ALC being roughed up after the only car date that DS remembered:

Well done, sir. Keep up the good work!

As for the girls meeting the perpetrator in rehab, it's unlikely at best I think. It's a good thought, however. I'm sticking to the notion he used the internet (though maybe not exclusively, IE Jessica Taylor) to meet these women, built up a certain level of trust with them over a period of a few months, then one day decided it was time to kill them. I don't think it's much more complex than that. Though from everything Dave Schaller and Kim Overstreet have said, the night Amber went missing was the first night she had had contact with that particular client. So who knows? I also believe that the killer himself contacted LE and made them aware of where to find the GB4. Serial Killers calling law enforcement and taunting them or providing them with bits of info or tips is nothing new. But that's neither here nor there pertaining to this subject.

Why cant the police just check Daves phone and find out who she was talking to? If he called restricted do they have a way to find out the number?

Probably a dumb question obviously if they could they would've. This guy knows how to cover his tracks. I am really starting to belive LISK is a cop.

I'm sure he was using a prepaid "burner" phone. And yeah, it would be pretty amazing had they not investigated Schaller and his cell. I bet that's the first thing they did. As a matter of fact, I specifically remember DS saying the cops paid him a visit because of the very fact he was allowing ALC to use his cell to conduct her business. Great article linked by Just K, too. I found the bit where they say: "A law enforcement source said she had arranged a date without Cruz's knowledge and met the man in his car", interesting, when referring to Megan Waterman. How could they possibly know this? There was no video (that I know of) that showed her getting into a vehicle for a "car date". I wonder who this "LE source" is. Interesting stuff.

Also, I hate to be critical, but I think Schaller and Brodsky should be ashamed of themselves. How many times has DS said "I told her I wouldn't be her pimp", and yet here he is in the middle of the whole thing allowing her to use his phone and acting as the muscle when she did in-call's at his place. The more I read about his involvement in the whole thing, the more I come to the conclusion he WAS her pimp. And her boyfriend, Bjorn Brodsky, took nearly half of the $7,000 she made the month before Amber disappeared. If that ain't blood money I don't know what is.

I wonder what BB contributed to the relationship which could possibly have justified his taking up to $3,000 a week of Amber's money?

Well, I bet the short answer is not much. That article claimed that they met in rehab and that he continued to relapse (along with Amber) while they were together. I'm sure whatever money they were bringing in was going straight in their arms. I'm sure Amber felt she had found a kindred spirit in Bjorn. They probably had a lot in common.

This is the pic that has been circulating in the mainstream media for a couple years now. It's the same guy on the left, right?

Interestingly, two of the women had a connection to the same Holiday Inn Express, located just off the Long Island Expressway in Hauppage, New York. According to Costello's roommate Dave Schaller, the pint-size escort received a call from a john who wanted her to meet him at the hotel at 1 a.m. a few weeks before she disappeared in September 2010.

Thank you. So, we don't really know that this client and Amber's last client were the same person. I made a big assumption...a definite no no. Of course, my gut tells me it was the same guy, but gut feelings aren't facts, so...

This photo reminded me of a question that I always wanted to ask. The photo was taken at ALC's wake outside of her funeral home on Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst.

my question is; does anyone know what ties ALC or her family had to Lindenhurst village?

She clearly lived in North Babylon.

Her family was from the Carolinas.

Her sister lived in New York City.

So why Lindenhurst?

I find it very unusual (and highly unlikely) that her family would randomly choose a funeral home. Families usually go back to funeral homes where previous family members were viewed. Others use funeral homes that are the closest proximity to the place where their loved-one cherished enough to call home.

There are like a half dozen or more funeral homes between her home in North Babylon and Wellwood avenue in Lindenhurst.

A few miles north is the Edison Avenue strip club scene. A few miles South across the bay is Gilgo Beach.

Any chance there is a connection?

Seriously... Why Lindenhurst?

Seaslug didnt she live in west babylon? Maybe whoever arranged the funeral had to make some sort of payment arrangements so they shopped around just a guess.

Maybe it was the cheaper option? It could have been just random. It is not uncommon. A friend of mine passed away and he lived by the water in Babylon. He was brought up to a funeral home on 109 in West Babylon when they lived a stones throw away from another one on Montauk HIghway in West Babylon.

The out of state family thing gets me too...It is quite odd.

It is especially curious that she got in someones car who she didnt know prior to that day, without her phone, shortly after being abducted and roughed up. It really seems to me that if she was recently harmed her guard should have been way up. The perp has a sure fire way to get the girls to let their guard down....

What if the sure fire way was a docter offering prescription drugs or someone offering big money to fill a prescription in their name?

Do you have any idea how large of a paper trail that leaves? Highly doubtful at best. Though the drug angle is very plausible.

Plausable how? What are your thoughts?

If it's random people and a Rx written by a doctor who can verify he wrote it... who would think anything of it?
