I don't think a man trying to escape death would crawl back to the place where the attack began. He would crawl away until he couldn't crawl anymore.

I doubt that happened.

It appears obvious Travis was trying to escape his attacker and get out of the bathroom and bedroom. As he neared the bedroom door, she slit his throat to stop him from going any further. This murder was supposed to happen in the shower!! (my beliefs)

YES, I just heard that again this morning. I was transcribing and I wrote ' MY wrath.'

I hope Juan picked up on that. Maybe Flores caught it. I see him watching closely and taking notes. Maybe we should point it out on the TA FB Page because I think someone from his office keeps up there.

I think there is a really big difference between 'MY wrath' and 'THE wrath.'

I believe he is talking about Universal KARMA, and not anything personal that he would threaten to do. And the DT is FALSELY saying that is personal threat by Travis.

I really want the jury to pick up on that deceitful thing the Defense is doing.

Steely Dan, as per an earlier comment today, speculates that TA is referring to the wrath of God.

Can someone explain what the three whole punch is about concerning exhibit 535? I understand the two exhibits filled out with different scores, not his reasoning however. Why did he not take a copy before he sent in the original to the DT or PT rebuttal Dr.? He could have called and asked whomever had the original to make a copy or fax him the original back so this mistake of 15 vs 17 would never had happened. He waited until the very last minute for the big semester exam. What are the dates on the dx exams? Are they different? Did he continue to see Jodi after the dx testing was completed? I have not read the book he gave her but is there anything in that book that could have help her with the PTSD testing?

BBM...that is the frustrating part. We are all trying to figure out all the details of how she did it exactly, knowing that we will never be able to prove it. It is a mystery as to how she was so quickly able to overpower him and leave basically unscathed. Only she knows, and we will never get the truth from her. Thankfully, the things that are proven are enough to convict her of this heinous crime.

It's not that much of a mystery. The medical examiner believes the first stab was through the heart artery--the superior vena cava--which also punctured his lung. Let me look up Arishia's explanation for you:

Arishia wrote:

"I understand where you are coming from, but if the first stab happens as you are trying to get up from sitting in a small shower stall, and cuts through your superior vena cava, you would be immediately stunned and very weakened. Blood immediately fills your right lung space, then starts coming up your trachea out your mouth and you begin struggling to inflate your collapsed lung and move air past the blood, which is very irritating to airway tissues. You get light headed and primarily focused on getting your breath, though trying to also fend off your attacker. Acute respiratory distress is one of the most difficult problems for people to cope with, aside from burns. IMHO"

That's brilliant! Thanks for sharing. This is my favorite bit:
Stephen Porter and colleagues (2001) noted that psychopathic offenders, because of their ability to be manipulative, deceive and lie, are likely prone to false claims of amnesia when they perceive it as benefiting their personal situation. Research has also shown that psychopaths may in fact have superior memories of traumatic events, when compared to non-psychopaths. They often have vivid memories of their violent acts, especially in cases of premeditation. Psychopaths also have profound emotional deficits which can make them immune to anxiety, depression and trauma. Porter et al., (2001) assert that claims of dissociative amnesia, among psychopathic offenders, are “very likely to be fabricated.”

I doubt that happened.
She was running the show.
He could not possibly have been thinking logically.
I saw a program where a guy kidnapped two females.
He took the one into the woods and told the other one he was taking her friend into the woods to talk to her.
When he returned the safe girl was still in the car, then noting that her friend did not return she then decided to flee.
She was in a panic, and listened to the killer of her friend.
so? people do not always do the right thing when in a situation where they can be murdered is all i am saying.:twocents:

Things that make me smile this weekend: knowing the jury is not sequestered and that while they are out picking up milk they may see that magazine cover of Jodi looking like a psycho killer.

And thinking of how much she was obsessed with Myspace knowing that Myspace is now irrelevant.

It's the little things....

Already? Oh..yeah I guess it is 2014 next year...that's nuts! Oh jeepers please let JA not get this kind of deal:please:

Jurors bought the abuse thing. Maybe he was or wasn't to her....don't know. But over 100 times? In TX? Come on now..... :screwy:

Great question!

However, I have chalked it up to a weak-willed and somewhat indecisive judge.

Who knows?

Perhaps she fears the lying torture-murderess.

After all, Tom Clements may have been targeted due to his position as Colorado's top prison official.

If so, some wouldn't blame her.

The problem to me is that I don't know enough about the law, which is why I would never, ever, ever act as my own lawyer. I'd like to know a little more about this issue before blaming the judge. I do think it's amazing some of the things that she lets through. OTOH, I noticed Thursday that she overruled a lot of JW's objections. When the lawyers go up to the bench for an objection, she seems to be exasperated with the defense most of the time. I've never noticed her being irritated with JM even when she overrules him. So, I'm still reserving judgment as far as the judge goes. Hopefully someone knowledgeable will pick the whole thing apart when the trial is over.

For me this trial has been dragging on so long, nothing makes much sense.
We hear the far-out diagnosis.Seems like most high profile cases drag some new health issue into it.

Yes. I posted about this as well. I listened to it a few times and couldn't make sense of it but without a doubt, she does say it!

More of the 48 Hours interview with Maureen Maher - Sept. 2008

JA claims to have received two written threats on her life from the Ninjas in the California jail before she was extradicted to AZ! It gets crazier and crazier!
***Has this particular interview been released in it's entirety? Have searched for it, but still can't locate it.

"I was shaking" when she read that first "threatening note". Also, catch how she wanted to talk about how notes are passed in the jail rather than answering the actual question. Liar.

I heard on HLN last night that Travis had changed the name on one of the airline tickets for the Cancun trip.
That Jodi's name was on the original ticket and she was indeed going on that trip. Then at some point he changed it to Mimi.
Any truth in that story?
IDK but i'll bet an investigator is checking this out.

JRS, it would appear that the DT has requested that all objections by discussed at the bench, they don't want "speaking objections" where it's all discussed in front of the jury. Is there some caselaw that says they can ask for this?

No, I don't think they have made such a request. There should never be any speaking objections in front of the jury. The problem is that this judge has been allowing it to go on--on both sides.

IMO, all of the sidebars lately, requested by JW, have been more about, Oh shat, this is going to be bad, "Objection! Can we approach?!?" The goal of which is to 1) break up JM's flow and 2) to give Dr. Fog a queue that he's about to step in doo doo, and give him a chance to formulate a response. If you notice, most, if not all, of those objections were overruled in the end. More of a "time out" request.

And this was only the beginning of the torture Travis endured in less than two minutes. It cannot be said that he did not suffer much.

I noticed there's been a lot of confusion between pigtails and braids. I didn't know if that was an age thing, a regional thing, or what.

She sure does nitpick. She thinks Martinez is trying to trick her with words and just can't seem to grasp what he's doing.
JM: You mean to tell me, dat there were "two yutes" that broke in and killed him, but we got a picture that day of you naked in pigtails...
JW: Objection! Braids!! They were braids! The rules of hair care are simple and finite. Any Cosmo girl would have known.
RS: Incon-th-evable!
JA: Compound question.
