No one knows what the jurors are thinking. Working as a paralegal you can tell when someone is doing sloppy work. This doctor had plenty of time to retest, recheck and have his I's dotted and his T's crossed. I agree with my friend, if this doctor wanted everything to be perfect it would have been. Now why did he do such a bad job? He isn't new to the field.

He's smitten, JMO

Yes, I too was impressed how Juan so eloquently lifted that pack of papers out of doc's hands. Doc looked like a dog who's off limits chicken bone was just taken away..

One correction to the above: Janeen DeMarte is the upcoming expert witness for the prosecution.

I'm a bit concerned with the news below:

http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/story/2...t-witness-in-arias-trial-has-home-burglarized

IMO
It is way too coincidental DeMarte's laptop with jodi's evaluation gets stolen Just last month... so close to her testifying. WAAAY TOO COINCIDENTAL!

I'd totally forgotten about that. Did they ever find it?

What murder in recent years is WORSE than the murder of Travis Alexander?

Caylee Anthony's.

I'm no fan of JA at all, I think she's a sick and quite evil individual, but I'm kind of tired of her being demonised when all she did is what a thousand husbands and boyfriends do to their wives and girlfriends, every single year. We aren't having blow by blow coverage of these cases, because they are so common. Arias is no worse than any one of these guys and needs to be treated exactly the same, ho hum another domestic, not vilified and judged to be some sort of Evil Goddess.

She is not a Bundy who went rampantly slaughtering innocent strangers for nothing other than bloodlust. She had one victim. He treated her badly. It was a crime of passion, and not exactly motiveless as Bundy's crimes were.

Well, if it were really funny, I would almost be laughing. The fact is, that not a thousand anyone's did what JA did to Travis. Sorry dear, didn't happen. And you're saying that she's sick and evil, but should not be demonized? Isn't that somewhat of an oxymoron? :waitasec:

Try this one:

or the little boy from tx who called his murderer ma'am before she chopped him into little pieces, etc, etc. Can't remember her name. Which is truly pathetic since I remember Jodi Arias but that crime was MUCH worse. There's a thread on it here.

...and thousands of others, sadly

I'm going to bed y'all. Good night

Premeditation is first degree. Lack of premeditation is second degree. Lack of premeditation PLUS sudden quarrel/heat of passion is manslaughter. :)

Thank you Karmady and AZLawyer for the clarification. :)

I sure havent heard of any recent cases where a victim was stabbed 29 times. That falls into a not so normal run of the mill murder to me.

Caylee Anthony's.

This is simply a difference of opinion then...My husband and I were both devastated by the jurors' decision in the Caylee case but this BS Jodi Arias is the Devil and needs the death penalty if anyone ever did...Jodi planned this and viciously slashed and gouged his body and probably took pleasure in doing it knowing what a psychopath she is.

I wonder if Jodi killed the cats owners and they are rotting away somewhere yet to be discovered. Wonder if any media has actually spoken to the owners of the cat.

I was wondering if it was the girl in Mesa that kicked her out because she was "getting married"

When in reality maybe she left the cat with JA to care for it and JA
was too busy stalking. TA?

really, I could not believe the question but there are tons of murders worse than TA's murder including Jaren Lockhart

Just catching the daily headlines one can come up with more brutal and depraved murders.

What about the rash of school shootings? Jodi's a singular sensation compared to mass murders. She may have intended to be, but she never made it there. I think there's a lot worse than JA, but, dear God, she's just in the running.

I think it's the incredible lying that both Jodi and Casey Anthony did post crime that brought them so much attention, there were other mothers who murdered their children also (sadly), but it was the 'working at Universal' and taking the officers right down the hallway bravado that stunned everybody and made the story so newsworthy, that and a fairly attractive white female aspect. Similar to Jodi going on 48 hours and Inside Edition and holding firm to the ridiculous Ninja story. This is how they brought national attention to their cases. I agree, if we heard as much detail of other murders we would be equally horrified as we are here, difference is all the attention means an opportunity to get to know the facts and get to know the background story, and most importantly get to know the victim, and feel a genuine loss we may not otherwise.

AZ I wanted to ask you in Arizona if they don't have the charges listed can they still go with a lesser crime, because the only charge I found against Jodi so far is first degree. I know in Fl. they have to have the charges listed at the formal arraignment. Unless something is discovered to dismiss or add a charge.

No, *I* didn't compare her with those people, other posters in this thread have been. I think it's ridiculous. Nothing about this crime is as bad as any of those crimes. Not even close. Even the court found only ONE mitigating factor for the death penalty. And even that was a close call is you read the back and forth about it.

I never compared her crime to those people's crimes, just to the people perpetrating the crime.

I thought the point being discussed was whether or not Jodi was the worst killer in recent memory.

BTW, I vote no. The Sanyhook shooter alone is worse. JMO

If I had a magic button that I could push, I would swap Jodi for Casey every day of the week. Not that I want either out!

I, too, would not fear Jodi in the slightest.

Had to remove several bickering, baiting type posts.

In the 101 thread, pensfan said:
A narcissist (Jodi) would never read a self-help book like Samuels allegedly sent her because, in her opinion, she is perfect.

She might read it for clues on how to manipulate OTHER people, though.

I can't help it; every time I think of Dr. Samuels and his early career/schooling (since he keeps referring that time period), I think of him as a long-haired (or at least shaggy-haired), with a mustache, wearing a sweater (not unlike The Dude in "The Big Lebowski"), although I suspect that Dr. S. DID go through a disco phase on weekends and was wearing leisure suits by the time the late 70s rolled around (he's older than me, but I was in my late teens and early twenties in the 1970s, so I can make fun of that).

Speaking of shaggy hair, he really should consider getting his hair trimmed in the back, because on TV it tends to curl up and stick out like wings in his closeups.
