Lost Girls film debuts on Netflix Friday, March 13, 2020

There are some interesting connections in the case though the extent/direct significance of each remains unknown. Atlantic City victim Molly Dilts was Facebook friends with Gilgo Beach victim Amber Costello and if I recall correctly, Melissa Barthelemy was allegedly friends with the daughter of Rita Tangredi who was murdered by John Bittrolf. Also, Atlantic City victim Kim Raffo was originally from Brooklyn and spent several weeks in Hauppauge, LI prior to her death.

Regarding the four women found in Atlantic City, I can’t concretely say there’s a connection to Gilgo but eerie commonalities exist, specifically that four women were placed together in almost precise intervals.

Yeah, it's a strange coincidence with the 4 AC women. Some connection with the GB4, crazy stuff.

If the AC women were not killed by LISK, then there are quite a few serial killers rolling around NY & NJ.

Unless the feds have LISK's DNA, & they run it through genealogy testing, they won't catch him unless he commits another murder & leaves DNA behind, or he's in prison, or he's dead or he retired & he's been luckier than the Golden St killer who left DNA at most of his crimes of rape & murder.

Also: I will never be convinced that Shannan entered the marsh alone. Now, who was with her-I don’t know-but she was not alone. Further, there’s no way she drowned. None.

This is tough. The marsh is thick, but some how she managed to end up deep into it. She could have had a psychotic bread down.

Could someone have killed her? Absolutely, but I don't think we will ever know one way or another.

I walked away infuriated by the portrayals of the other women. Missy Cann in particular. Missy is not the shy, timid creature this film made her out to be. She is a rock ! And she fiercely advocated for Maureen ! Endless hours of research, gathering the other women to be out front and visible, seeking out Websleuths for help ! Missy is the REAL hero, imo. Is she brash and combative the way Mari was ? No. But she is strong and determined and brave. One of the most inspiring women I have ever had the pleasure to get to know. And this film treated her like she was small and inconsequential.

It made me livid.

Thank you for your comment.
It is like this film took not only the families voices away. But most importantly Maureen’s, Melissa’s, Megan’s and Amber’s. I don’t think their intent was to do that. However ultimately it did. We were told to keep in mind the film was fictional based on the book. However it seems it is being confused as it is all true. Our families didn’t know about the film until after it was completed. We didn’t have any input or no one really got to knows us to truly portray us correctly.(Not that I care about publicity on myself because it not about me it is about these murdered women.) Though I find the people behind the film are very nice and seem like they care. I do feel like all of our voices were taken and used to twist someone else’s story of events. Maybe someday someone will really want to tell the true story of all that happened and get to really know who each family member is. How hard we all fought for our loved ones to be taken seriously. Not only by Law enforcement agencies. Because the media in the beginning, were the reason why I started to speak publicly. How they would speak about these women as if they weren’t loved and that they were disposable. ( you know the line in the movie that they they the detective say ” who spends this much time on looking for dead hooker” well the police did not say that. It was a member of the media when the police were search ocean parkway after the original four remains were found.
This is a bit longer than I intended to write. Thank you for speaking up on my behave. I do respect that and appreciate it very much.

The story of the women who tirelessly advocated for Maureen, Melissa, Megan, Amber and Shannan is an important story to tell, and to tell accurately, imo. For exactly the reasons you stated, but also because sex workers, statistically, are the most targeted group for serial killers. If you listen to serial killers like Gary Ridgway, and Joel Rifkin, they will tell you point blank that the reason they chose sex workers as their victims was because they were easy prey and because they were seldom reported missing. I personally think they have the later part wrong. I think many of these victims WERE reported missing, and LE simply chose not to aggressively pursue these cases specifically because the victims were sex workers. That is NOT a generalized slam on law enforcement...there might be any number of reasons why reports of missing persons who happen to be sex workers might not be as aggressively pursued as they should be. Some of those reasons are legitimate (sheer volume of missing person cases, for example) , others are not so legitimate. But whatever the reason, it's important that LE recognize the statistics and adjust their approach to these cases drastically, because random serial killing is a crime that is exploding across this country exponentially. And there is a reason for that. It's called objectification. The more advocates who come forward and present FULL PORTRAITS of these victims, the less likely they are to be objectified by anyone...serial killers OR law enforcement, or society as a whole.
