Here's an article that tells the names that sent all four packages...

Each bore a false name in the sender’s address box (Renee Bordelais sent two, Hurbert Chretien and L. Valentini one each). The political packages had big, hand-drawn hearts at the bottom of their cardboard boxes.

Poking around some more... "L. Valentini" of St Catharines seems to also be linked to Magnotta and Homolka (google search). I have a feeling this obsession with Homolka will come up during the trial in a BIG way.

Yes that name does also seem to be associated with Homolka. And if anyone is going to bring all this up it's going to be the defence. I think that jury is in for a VERY long ride with this trial.

Looks like he first starting using "Manny" as a defense for his actions back during the time when he was being called out about the animal killings. He contacted a lawyer in New York back then it appears and told him all about "Manny".

Sharon Stone's character i the movie is called Catherine Trammel and her fiancé's name was Manny!!!

If this wasn't premeditated, how did he know the following:
- the mailing addresses to send the body parts
- the maiden name of the Prime Minister's wife (I asked my husband what her name was and neither of us knew!)
- taking time to go out to purchase the mailing boxes
- the various names on the return addresses (he had to research some of that!)
- obtaining the various instruments of torture......
- the significance of his many alter-names
- on and on........

This dude must have done more research than I did in University!!

So many names, so little time. I have a feeling that we will NOT be covering all of his online movements over the years. If that happened, there would be absolutely no chance of an NCR verdict, really.
I am surprised that he didn't use his usual aliases for the packages. Instead, he used names of real people. I find this interesting. Just as interesting as I find how hard this guy worked to have his name linked to Homolka. Search for her and he WILL come up (which is how I heard of him years before this happened...). His obsession with violence and murder, either by real people or fictional people is creepy.

He couldn't have put this together in one night. Sure, he was sloppy, but it was a BIG production.
Also, the medication. That stands out to me. Did he have a prescription for it? I doubt it. He likely ordered it online. That takes time and itself should prove premeditation.

As for the mailing materials (boxes, etc)... was this purchased before hand? Or was it an error? (see these two tweets: https://twitter.com/MontgomerySue/status/519129642234814464 and https://twitter.com/MontgomerySue/status/519129643186933761 ). I have also seen the date May 25. A bit confusing. Perhaps I should start reading the recap articles more frequently?

Yeah...but only here in Canada. I believe he's still serving a life sentence in the US for one of those murders. I think we're too soft up here on criminals sometimes. If someone has a diagnosis of schizophrenia and refuses to take medication to help prevent them from committing these violent murders then they need to be removed from society. One way or another. I have no problem with LM being declared NCR for this crime and being sent to a psychiatric facility for the rest of his life, although I personally believe he's just evil and a very good manipulator. But I don't want to hear that he's back out on the street in a couple of years because he's "okay" on medication.

We just can't take that chance with this guy IMO.

I agree. It appears that he has a history of not taking his medication. Also, medications do not work for everybody. He isn't somebody who should be back on the streets. Ever. No matter what caused him to do this (and I do believe it was premeditated, although I do believe he is also mentally ill... I just don't believe it is an 'excuse' in this case).
