Thank god for that. Sick of hearing about poor little Luka and how he misses nursey and he feels like people are watching him - yeah, that's because you're in PRISON because you decided to murder and dismember someone! :banghead:

So, he now weighs about 200LBS. I also weigh about that, so people really weren't kidding that he is now fat. While I realise that the meds can cause weight gain, I also have to wonder what the heck prisoners are fed. Weight gain seems to be common, and I doubt the cocktail of meds he takes is common.

I just looked up Dr. Tan on WebMD - oh dear. Not so good!

:notgood:

I googled this "doctor", too. Not good at all. I wouldn't consider this guy a reliable witness, or an expert.

Thanks again for posting up the tweets. I was out again most of the day today and really appreciate being able to catch up so quickly.

So I'm with you Rayemonde. That sounded like one big manipulative pity party all day today. Especially the time in the detention centre. Ummm....everyone knows you are watched, there are spies sent in as regular inmates, cameras are everywhere and you're conversations and calls are recorded. That's the same for everyone. And he knows it. So how is that paranoia? It's the truth for cripes sakes.

And it appears to me that he latched on to this intern Dr Tan and followed him around wherever he was so he could manipulate him. He claims his psychiatrist didn't believe him. If he doesn't show up at this trial then that means his father's psychiatrist didn't believe him and knew he was being manipulated by LM. Get himself on disability. Nutritional supplements, which is what he wanted. He probably rarely ate properly since he was always on the go as an "actor and model".... or prostitute as the Crown so aptly put it. And he probably had a natural tendency to be on the slight side as far as muscle tone is concerned. Which I'm sure he didn't want. He probably wanted to bulk up the muscle without getting fat and was using the doctor's to try to get free supplements or "shots" that would help with this.

Everything he did revolved around his own vanity and sense of self importance IMO. And he was definitely a hypochondriac it seems. Always looking for attention in any way he could get it. He seems to like nurses and hospitals. I bet he loves all the nurturing. And I bet he checked himself in whenever he was in one. He even asked for it from the detention centre.

He is definitely one messed up dude but I still see no correlation between anything I read today and what he did to JL. I suppose there will be more doctors who questioned him about his "feelings" leading up to the actual murder? And his "feelings" after it when he meticulously cleaned up everything and had some very clever means of hiding out on the run.

Can't remember that far back but was Bernardo ever diagnosed with any personality disorder or mental illness?

MOO

Wow...not good at all. No wonder LM was willing to go to him all the time at a walk in clinic. What doctor just takes a patient's word for it that they are a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic. The tweets were confusing but was this guy prescribing drugs to LM without ever seeing a diagnosis? Just on his word?

What have you found about the doctor?

IMO, I don't think he was a hypochondriac. It sounds more like borderline personality disorder. My friend as a tendency to do this. Every little thing becomes a BIG thing, and when she gets little sympathy or attention she gets very upset. She dismisses simple, logical diagnoses and demands all sorts of tests and accuses everybody of not taking her seriously or being wrong when the tests come back just fine. And it isn't just with doctors. It is a constant need for attention, and it fits with everything I have read about BPD.
It seems that he did follow this doctor around. He found somebody who couldn't be bothered to question him or really investigate. It appears that the doctor took his word for it and just wrote prescriptions, which seems to be exactly what Magnotta wanted.

Some bad reviews on ratemymd? I wouldn't put too much stock in them...

I don't THINK he was prescribing psychiatric drugs, he never mentioned prescribing anything did he? He prescribed Viagra and nutritional supplement but no mention of any psychiatric drugs.

The 2005 doctor's letter for LM's fraud trial was from his psychiatrist, Thuraisamy Sooriabalan and said he'd been suffering from schizophrenia since at least 2000.

That site, plus others like it. I realise that people who are upset are more likely to complain than people who are pleased. My doctor's ratings are pretty accurate, though. A pretty good doctor, but notoriously late and fairly "cold". My point being that it could be somewhat accurate. It could also be angry people who didn't get what they wanted or expected (which is highly likely). It doesn't LOOK good, though.

As for whether or not this doctor gave him psychiatric drugs, I was under the impression that he did, but the tweets can be confusing. I would have to read a proper recap to clarify. It is possible that he did not and I was misreading. The Viagra, though... did the doctor run any tests to see if there are any medical reasons for his erectile dysfunction? Or did he just give them to Magnotta based on his word?

So who was prescribing the Temazepam?

  • #274
And about the psychiatrist not believing LM - I imagined it wasn't a case of the doctor not believing LM had schizophrenia, but more case of:
LM: 'Doctor, people are stalking me and taking photos of me and it's very stressful.'
Doctor: 'You're delusional again, young LM. No one wants to take your picture. I've told you before, you HAVE to keep taking your medication!!'
LM: 'How very dare you speak to me like that, I'm a famous model! I'm off to find an new doctor who'll show me the respect I deserve!'
*monkey walks out the door*

Is that supposed to be his father's doctor? I wonder if we'll hear from him?

Not sure if it's dad's doctor, can't remember if he mentioned a name
But he's not on the list of witnesses the media have been printing
If they don't call him, it looks like they've got something to hide. Like, maybe he had a history of malingering. Or maybe he confessed to them that he killed animals. Or maybe they also diagnosed him as a psychopath. Or maybe LM just has a delusion that his old doctor was out to get him and refused to call him. Or maybe they spoke to the doctor and he said in his opinion LM was not NCR at then time of the murder. Who knows.

#Magnotta requested many times to be admitted to hospital.

Feb 15, 2013: spent a lot of time sleeping. Witness says due to lots of meds. Tendency to take refuge in sleep. #Magnotta

Roy saw #Magnotta on on Feb 15, 2013. He was sleeping a lot, Roy says. said he was more comfortable

Talked about Friday the 13th. #Magnotta

#Magnotta said was more comfortable then, couldn't sleep at night, woken by dreams of Friday the 13th.

#Magnotta said he woke up with nightmares because of movie Friday the 13th, Roy said.

ME: **Not because of the movie he himself made?? This is bizarre.**

Two weeks later, had same level of anxiety. Feared attempts by inmates to get to know him, anxious about upcoming trial. #Magnotta

Thought chatty inmates were moles trying to trip him up before trial.

#Magnotta told Dr. Roy he heard voices that put him down. He was anxious, sad, worried other detainees would attack and kill him.

#Magnotta was sad at time because anniversary of dead aunt was coming up.

Factors: very long evaluation period pre-trial. Nun he was in contact with had passed away. Major loss for him, sadder now. #Magnotta

ME:** No mention of JL yet!!! No mention of feeling guilty for what he did!!!!**

In dec 2012, Roy wrote that #Magnotta wasn't having halluciations, hearing voices, delusional, but worried an inmate gathering info on him

Adjusted meds to improve sleep. #Magnotta

Are you fricking kidding me ???

Comfortable ?? Music ?? Let him Sleep ??
