I was thinking the same thing. But some of these witnesses simply aren't important enough. This last one really didn't have anything worthwhile to add. He saw Magnotta. Magnotta was calm. Magnotta didn't wish to speak. That's it. Not worth the money spent on a trip.

So is Leclair setting up for some kind of unfair defense because the crown didn't want to pay for all these people to come here for the trial?

I think it's just more random, irrelevant chit-chat tbh :S I was really half-expecting him to ask the policeman if he told LM to poop on the floor though

So LM really was reading stories about himself when he was arrested! What a stupid thing to do. No mention of whether he was looking at naked pictures of himself though, as some MSM reported. All this talk of him being calm/ emotionless - it seems at odds with what I've read about his severe anxiety and paranoia when he was younger. Sitting in the inernet cafe with the worker surrepticiously staring at him - that didn't make him feel paranoid!? I wonder if he was on some kind of drugs at the time. Or maybe just severe flattened affect caused by schizophrenia.


This supposed rape and theft in Paris that was mentioned yesterday has notbeen mentioned again though, I'm still very confused about that!

Definitely not paranoid behaviour. Then he gets very nervous when questioned, stuttering shaking and sweating, but once he's arrested he's smiling as though relieved it's all over. Then once he's in custody he's emotionless and doesn't want to talk - maybe his situation is starting to sink in by then. It doesn't scream "NCR" to me...

He was a smooth talker at first lying about his identity, country he was from and why he was there. He probably honestly didn't think he looked much like the pictures that Interpol had up at the time. I wouldn't have thought so based on the pic from Rubert's collection and the one on the Interpol poster. Until the cop mentioned he thought he looked like the wanted man in pictures. Then he knew the jig was up. And I guess he wasn't ready for his close-up Mr DeMille since he had just spent a rough weekend partying with his new German pals and had to get up early to get out of Rubert's apt since he didn't trust him to stay there alone. But the real reason he said that IMO is because he fancied himself a famous person. Pretty much the same thing Lindsay Lohan probably says every time she's getting arrested.

And the description of him sitting in the back of a van full of students and cops (at that point they were up to about 10-11 people in that van) all buckled up nicely and grinning like a lunatic just cracks me up also. What on earth were those cops and students thinking? They had just been flagged down in the road to make this arrest. Then the "star" wants to hurry on out of there to avoid the press. No wonder they were shell shocked at what was going on. You couldn't write this stuff for a bad Hollywood movie. SMH
