So...why are we having a trial? ;)

To cause us, the tax payers, to pay for it?????????????????????? Why else??????????????

  • #542
Of course he didn't 'like' the doctor who DID see through him and determined he was stable. So he found somebody else who would give into his demands. WHERE IS THIS DOCTOR?!?!

  • #543
I hate when the testimony gets good and the tweeters get so wrapped up in it they forget to tweet. I'm going to start trying to translate the French ones soon. LOL

SO Allard says he is NCR... The Crown didn't even call one doctor to say he wasn't NCR...
What do we have here a gong show?

I am seriously concerned now that LM may get away with this... omg.

  • #545
OK, so now I'm getting anxious and upset. If this dude walks on an NCR, I'll ....... I'll ...... I don't know what!

Allard: #Magnotta was in a psychosis on May 25, 2012. He knew what he was doing, but didn't know it was wrong because perceptions were off.

In April 2001 #Magnotta was seen several times by community workers in a crisis centre. Was referred to psychiatrist

“I am not sure what we’re dealing with. Bizarre, interesting presentation,” wrote a psychiatrist who saw #magnotta when he was 18

suemontgomery ‏@MontgomerySue · 2m2 minutes ago
About one per cent of population has schizophrenia and typical age of onset is 18 #Magnotta

suemontgomery ‏@MontgomerySue · 1m1 minute ago
Psych wondered if there were secondary gains #Magnotta was looking for. He had gone in for sore throat but said he heard voices

Don't panic, I googled this Dr and she's testified that people are NCR for.murder before, but the jury have disagreed.

It can take several months or years to say with certainty that it’s schizophrenia, Allard says #Magnotta

suemontgomery ‏@MontgomerySue · 56s56 seconds ago
#Magnotta went to community crisis centre about six times but didn’t follow up with doc appt. That tells me he wasn’t feeling well: Allard

At beginning of disease, it’s difficult to admit that you hear voices, Allard says #Magnotta

So, she is a sympathetic pushover, who allows her compassion to cloud her judgement? Not to be disrespectful or discredit her... but seriously!! WTF!

There have been a LOT of bizarre legal arguments this week. I have a feeling Leclair is doing everything to squash any line of questioning that would discredit anything his witnesses are saying. I reckon the judge is letting this go a little too far. I wouldn't be surprised if the crown DID have some witnesses that do not think Magnotta is NCR, but Leclair put a stop to it. He was fairly relaxed and... baffling during the crown's presentation. NOW the teeth are showing.

Exactly...she a paid witness for the defense. We have to remember that. Not one other doctor who was actually treating him and not being paid for their testimony has made this determination.

Allard saw him about 8 times she said for several hours each time #Magnotta

Oh yeah, that should give you a solid idea of what this guy is about. Cripes, Frank Rubert spent more time with him directly after the murder.

I really want to know if the Crown had the time and access to LM to get an expert of their own. Or is this woman an agreed upon expert for both of them?

Spent about 25 hours with him, she says. Most difficult patient of my career. Hard for him to talk about symptoms #Magnotta

suemontgomery ‏@MontgomerySue · 3m3 minutes ago
Allard wondered from first meeting whether #Magnotta was making up symptoms

suemontgomery ‏@MontgomerySue · 2m2 minutes ago
Most common symptoms that are faked are hallucinations - hearing or seeing things, Allard says #Magnotta

salimah shivji ‏@salimah_shivji · 2m2 minutes ago
Dr. Allard says #Magnotta was very difficult to examine. He minimizes symptoms. "He doesn't think he's as sick as he is," she says.

suemontgomery ‏@MontgomerySue · 2m2 minutes ago
You could feel someone touching you but no one is there; you smell things that aren’t there, Allard says #Magnotta

suemontgomery ‏@MontgomerySue · 1m1 minute ago
People taste things and think they are being poisoned - all these things are very common in our work, Allard says #Magnotta

suemontgomery ‏@MontgomerySue · 57s58 seconds ago
Generally in schizophrenia there are hallucinations but not continuous. They can do things to lessen them, too, Allard says #Magnotta

suemontgomery ‏@MontgomerySue · 53s53 seconds ago
Some will say “I hear in my head” Allard says. But what if they learned that from growing up with a schizophrenic Leclair asks #Magnotta

suemontgomery ‏@MontgomerySue · 37s38 seconds ago
Could happen, Allard says. But it depends how they act too. We observe a lot. #magnotta

afternoon break in #Magnotta. back at 3:15

Asking if it is possible for somebody to learn things from growing up with a schizophrenic? Way to shoot yourself in the foot, Leclair.

  • #556
We still have Dr Joel Watts to hear from. But he didn't show up in the Crown's presentation so is he going to second Dr Allard's opinion?

How could the Crown have put on a presentation that was all about the murder and the premeditation without putting up one doctor to counter these claims? Or can they do that in redirect?

Nah...it's just pre-emptive. He knows the question is coming from the Crown. LOL

I was an amazing liar / actress in my drugging days... I can tell you that if I was to pretend I was crazy, I would do it just like LM - I would down play the symptoms.. To me, someone who acts outwardly crazy in front of a psychiatrist is going to be more suspected of faking then someone who portrays them self as a week child and subtly speaks of symptoms, while downplaying them of course...
LM is a Master Faker!

He's asking that because they've already discussed what she's going to say and he thinks it will help his case.

I don't know why the crown didn't call a psychiatrist, I just can't understand it :s

We do have a real elephant (or is that an ape?) in the room with regards to what we know about LM and what has apparently been argued out of evidence and that's his online presence and years of attention seeking behaviour. Not to mention the torment he inflicted with the animal videos and his glee at getting away with all of it. I realize that the jury is not going to know the full extent of it, but do these doctors? Can they seriously make this determination knowing that (even though they can't technically tie those videos to LM) he was behaving in this manner? Can they make this determination knowing that he would taunt on the internet and then carry through with his threats. Like he did with the JL murder and video. Long preplanned and premeditated. Did he just wait until he was in a psychotic state to carry it out? I really don't think so.

The jury is unlikely to ever know any of this right? Which is a shame.
