I want to know how Dre. Allard KNOWS that LM was having an episode at the very moment of the killing/dismembering/mailing/etc. She wasn't there with him. Did the voices of the FBI tell him to make the video?

It's really looking like an NCR in my opinion.

Oh, and regarding 'people want him punished' - I don't think that's the case at all here. I think people want to be SAFE from him no matter what happens with this case.

ETA: And with an NCR case, the victim's family must attend the hearing every so many years to see if the killer will be released. (This is the case with Richard Kachkar sp?? who killed a police officer. The officer's wife must face the killer every so often to listen to why he should be released into the public again.) Do we want this for JL's father?

I think he needs to be locked away and kept under strict supervision. I do think in the future that dealing with him can help spot many types of mental illnesses. JL's family needs to never ever have to see his face again.

Someone has posted a comment confirming that this bf was a real person called "Ron". I have no idea if it's true or not though.

ETA The person who said this also posted a link to an article criticising journalist Joe Warmington for giving credence to LM's story about the Homolka rumours.

I honestly don't know who's to blame for what became of Eric Newman. I don't understand how he went for so long with all these issues and yet not one person, friend, family, doctor, seemed to be aware of what he was doing online and in real life. It appears that he made sure to leave that part of his world out of all his discussions with the psych doctors except for an occasional reference to Karla but blaming it on other people. Did he mention the Karla thing because it had become news and he knew the doctor may have heard about it? Or was he asked about it? Hard to say with just the tweets. That whole online world and persona was kept from everyone who was treating him it seems. He had to have known that his behaviour in that respect was not morally right or acceptable or he would have told them about it right? I'm sure it would take forever to piece together the times he was on medication and seeing doctors on a regular basis and whether he was also continuing on with the fantasy online world he had created for himself at the same time. How do these two worlds factor into his diagnosis? How does the fact that he never once mentioned to any doctor that he had urges to kill animals and people and put videos of it online, or that voices were telling him to do it come into play here? By reading through the tweets this morning, it seems like he was actively seeking help so you'd think he'd be terrified of these thoughts. But the person he put forward, both online and in real life, didn't seem that he had a problem at all with these thoughts and behaviours. He seemed to get real enjoyment out of his online escapades and getting away with them all.

And another thing that also seems to be missing here is that he was "all about sex". Whether it was being raped and abused by one boyfriend or another, loved and adored for his actor status, a talented stripper and escort, none of the psych doctors seem to have realized that sex was a big part of his underlying issues. And I think you could say the murder had a sexually driven aspect to it. Not to mention the smut he wrote in the email to the London reporter and apparently also to the male nurse at RDP.

I'm not getting a good feeling that anyone did anything for him other than listen to his delusions, write them down but not press to find out if any of them had merit, and prescribe meds for him that they knew he wasn't going to take regularly. And without any real family support to put pressure on his issues and the mental health care system, he was just left to his own devices, and obviously twisted ideas of how to gain the attention and fame he felt was his due. Because he did tell them about that early on. He was going to be a celebrity. Mission accomplished I guess?

I'm hoping that the MSM articles will provide further clarification on this, because I'm not sure who he is supposed to have told this to or when. Did he tell this to Dr Allerd whilst he was in prison, or what?

Toronto psychiatrist Dr. Thuraisarny Sooriabalan first diagnosed Magnotta with schizophrenia in 2002 and followed him for six years, court heard.

Magnotta was twice admitted to Toronto's Rouge Valley Medical Centre in 2003, complaining about hearing voices, a report from the hospital says.

He was swearing at the voices on one occasion and had grown desperate, the report says.

"He had planned to throw himself in front of a train because of the symptoms," Allard said, quoting the 2003 report.

Magnotta decided not to kill himself to avoid causing grief to his loved ones, the jury heard.
